"Check in was delightful with Arnaud! Breakfast was very good and everything was clean. It was nice to have a bottle of cold water in the fridge on arrival! I can highly recommend Hotel de France Gare de Lyon Bastille."

"CitizenM is a really cute hotel chain with a consistent look and feel. It’s perfect for artsy types and digital nomads. Their Paris hotels have great coworking spaces, although I’m not a fan of the reservation system. Still, they’re great places to work. I personally like the rooms. They’re very compact, but they have everything you need, from an iron to a hair dryer. I do wish they welcomed guests with a bottle of water. Filtered water is available at the bar, but getting it can take way too long. They could really use a couple of self-service water stations. For some reason, the women on staff were especially warm and wonderful, particularly Kika (maybe Keeka) When I needed an ice pack, she improvised one using ice and a plastic glove. Smart! The men were mostly curt and unfriendly. Maybe it’s because I’m not a hot lady. Haha. Who knows?"

"Each rooms shower does not have an adjustable shower head so if you want to wash your hair it’s virtually impossible unless you hold the shower head with one hand and try to wash your hair with the other! The shower head only hooks on to the wall at hip hight which is useless. Also some TVs have setting to watch in original broadcast language others are only in French and not smart TVs."

"Why haven’t you booked this, if you are reading this review, you should not wait. Hotel is right next to Gare De Lyon, smart way to travel around Paris. Take metro, RER or sncf, it’s all here. Amazing lobby on Mezzanine level, rooms are superb. Having stayed at another hotel in Paris as an American tourist, this hotel hits the home run."

"The room and bathroom is beautifully appointed, very modern, extremely clean, and marvelously quiet… the staff exceptionally nice and helpful… the location, which I needed for a very early morning departure from Gare de Lyon, absolutely ideal, about 1 minute walk with no steps or stairs to just wheel your luggage over to the Hall 3 entrance. I could not be happier with my decision to stay there for the night before my train departure! The location is also only 10-15 minutes’ walk from Jardin des Plantes which is beautiful."
