We booked a wedding at Roman Baths last year but COVID put paid to that! Founders House was booked as our guest accommodation for our small scale event. We sought and were granted an extension which we decided to utilise now for friends to visit the Bath Christmas market with us-which then got cancelled! We decided to still go as we love Bath and some markets were still running. The cost of Founders had increased from our original booking unfortunately.
However, all that said, we were very grateful for the extension. The house is lovely and perfect location for central Bath whilst being quiet. Rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate for couples and the bathrooms, whilst not en-suite, are very adjacent. It really is a lovely old, warm building and we loved the cellar kitchen area as a gathering and meeting point. It has all the facilities you need, coffee, tea, microwave, cooker (even an AGA if you choose), dishwasher (handy with a large group). Lovely touch to provide a bottle of Prosecco for the stay. There is no car parking on site but the shopping centre car park is a 3 minute walk away. Whilst not cheap £16 for 24 hours, you can leave your car safe and secure there for an unlimited time. The cathedral, Baths, and the main city shops and numerous eating venues are a 2 minute walk.
Check in and out is via the housekeeper who was contactable by mobile and very helpful. 3 sets of keys provided-useful in a group. A great stay in a great city!
