"This place is super cute and right on a lake. Online we had no idea that the lake is quite large, we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff at check in we very nice and helpful in letting us know what restaurants were around. Its in a small, cute town with a small downtown and a few restaurants. We loved that we could walk there and also that we could watch the sunset at the private beach. No frills room, but we did not need anything more, there are also cabins. Had we realized how cute and area was and how nice the lakefront was we would have looked at a cabin for more days. Not very far from Sleeping Bear Dunes at all, we went there every day."

"Cool layout for a family or small group, and it’s a great location. The kids loved the bunk bed and the corn hole game. Kitchen and dinner no set up were great. On the downside- The metal circular stairs were tough to navigate with suitcases, and the kitchen trash being under the staircase had three of our guests knocking their heads against those metal stairs. Room darkening shades are needed in the bedroom, as it was super bright all night due to the exterior lights shining right through the thin blinds."

"The location was fabulous!!! Right on the water (across the bike path which posed no problem for young children to cross); kayaks were provided by the host, but given the number in our family we rented some more, along with some paddle boards, We also rented bikes -- and given the proximity to Frankfort where we rented the bikes we could bike back home along the beautiful bike path and then onto Beulah also within easy biking distance. The water was indeed crystal clear and the view across the lake stunning with the turquoise water becoming dark blue in the middle. Great day trips to the dunes and Lake Michigan as well. And the fire pit provided a wonderful s'mores end to the day. There were some problems with the house. The cleaners were not finished cleaning when we arrived at 4pm. There are indeed lots of stairs from the road where the cars park to the house. -- not a problem for the young but a bit of a challenge for the elderly. When we arrived the ice maker and water dispenser did not work, but the host arranged for a handyman to arrive who fixed that. The kitchen is small and the living area only seats six comfortably. Adjusting the heat/cooling was a challenge -- not too hot on the second floor and not too cold in the basement where the bunk beds are. On the other hand the beds were very comfortable -- and the teenagers in the group appreciated the curtains that provided privacy on four of the bunks. Despite some of the house's quirks we had a wonderful time."

"The house was more than what they show. It was beautiful, very clean. Jay was super easy to ask questions with. They have so many games and yard games to use. The beach was perfect! It's off the main road, so it was so peaceful and quiet, but you are so close to town. We loved the bike/walking trail being so close too. It takes you to Frankfort. Highly recommended this place/ Helen's House. We will be back!"

"The cottage is nicely situated. The sunroom was the perfect room to enjoy the lake view, play games on a rainy day, or after a long day on the lake. The host was prompt to respond. Great stay! Great memories. We hope to return!"
