"We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset House! Close to such beauty and fun activities. We headed out for adventure each morning and would retreat "home" each night to watch the sunset (or magical mist!) and have some downtime as a family. It was the perfect balance. The house is so comfortable, and the view / location can't be beat! Ingrid was a wonderful host - I had a few questions and she got back to me promptly and was incredibly patient and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this...

"This house was really a gem, well equipped and surrounded by nature. Just be SURE to rent a 4WD vehicle, as there are many steep and winding dirt roads to access the property with huge potholes and ruts. We knew about this area but if you have never been there be prepared for an off-road experience. Lots of birds and beauty make the effort worthwhile. Friendly and helpful caretakers. We had a lovely time:)"

It’s a bit of a drive to La Fortuna but we did 2 activities (night walk and zipping) at CRParadisio which is close to the house. I would recommend this property!"

"Casa 5 is possibly the best situated house in Buena Vista. It was relatively private and had a nice lake view. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms had ample drawer space as well as plenty of hangers. The space was open and comfortable."

"Our group of 2 families enjoyed the stay here. We had everything we needed. The location is beautiful, but very windy. The scenery was the highlight for adults. Kids loved the mini golf and the upstairs loft (beware of the steep steps). It is about an hour drive to the volcano. Lots to see and do within an hour drive in all directions. "This hotel was definitely 5 star. Dinner was good. Breakfast was ok. Bed was a little hard but room was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows with a view of the jungle. We only stayed one night didn’t see any monkeys but heard howler monkeys yelling. Hot springs were amazing! Except it could use some lighting down there for night time they are open until 8 but it gets dark at 6. Staff was top notch!!! "

"Both times we stayed at this property Patrick was waiting to meet us when we arrived. He and his wife go well out of their way to assure you have a great vacation. The home is equipped with many books, games, and so many cool artifacts to check out! It’s secluded and quiet giving you that perfect feeling of being lost in nature. The kitchen has everything you need to stay in and fix a meal, or better yet, have Patrick cook for you. He’s an excellent chef who was willing to accommodate a vegan as well as vegetarian and omnivores all together. The property is a gem in itself, but the people you will encounter there are above all expectation! Book this place asap!"

They made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, a perfect start to the day. "Alexandra went out of her way to make me feel welcome. She made a fruit smoothie and coconut snack as a welcome treat. The Tico studio was very functional and fit the jungle environment. The bed was very comfortable and with the sound of the rain I fell asleep quickly and awoke refreshed. Honestly the best sleep and rest if the trip. Alexandra made empanadas and tea for breakfast. Totally unexpected as the description didn't indicate that breakfast was included."
