We had a second consecutive New Year at Stone haven and it didn't disappoint.
We had a second consecutive New Year at Stone haven and it didn't disappoint. Clean and well equipped. Some lovely walks in the area. We walked to West Tanfield on New Years Day and spent the afternoon in The Black Bull, it was great with all the locals. Walks to the Henges, the nature reserve and also the walk to the village of Well are lovely. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in Stonehaven Cottage for a week, the weather was mixed but the comfort and peace of the cottage made up for the weather. It's in a perfect location, with a pub serving good food about 100yards away. A visit to Wensleydale Creamery was great. Thank you to the host for making our stay perfect. A must of you want peace and quiet, comfort and everything you could want and more in the cottage. Highly recommended.

We're a family of 4, and we had a great time.
We're a family of 4, and we had a great time.Lovely quiet area. Excellent property, very thoroughly cleaned and equipped. Relaxing outdoor front garden area with a huge variety of flowering plants (August) and a nice few small bushes/shrubs to provide a little privacy from the road (very quiet road). The views from the windows are beautiful with another cottage across the street who have a wonderful garden. The whole area is excellent, with a nature reserve a few minutes walk away. Kids park 5 mins walk down the road the other way. Hundreds of geese taking a break in the nature reserve. The birds singing. Clear dark skies at night when all the street lamps go off at midnight!30-60 mins drive from the very best of what Yorkshire has to offer. We had plenty to do every day we were there. The cottage provided a perfect place for us to use as a base, eat, play, relax, recover and prepare for the next day. Thanks so much for making this cottage available!Feedback for the owner: The only negatives I can think of are the TV in the main bedroom, the remote doesn't seem to let you control the volume or turn off the TV even after putting new batteries in. And the mattress has sloped off on the sides. Other than these two small annoyances, everything was perfect!

Beautiful cottage.
Beautiful cottage. Quiet location...perfect if that's what you want. Recommended.
The cottage was exactly as described. Large comfortable rooms. Modern bathroom. Well equipped dining/kitchen. Washing machine but no dryer; clothes dried quickly on rack outside, but could be a challenge in bad weather.
Location about five minutes drive from Masham where there is a small co-op. Had a great meal at Where There’s Fire in Masham. There are several other good pub/restaurants in Masham, plus a very good fish and chip shop. Big disappointment is that the very nice pub/restaurant in Nosterfield is only open on Friday.
Over the years we have stayed in many cottages in different parts of the Dales and have yet to find the ideal location, but Nosterfield is among my top choices, especially if the pub was open ever day. I would also not hesitate to recommend this cottage.
