"The best thing going for this hotel is the location beside the train station making it easy if you arrive by train as we did (and had a hire car to pick up the next day from Hertz behind the station - a 15 min walk).
You can walk to the city centre in about 20 - 30 min or catch one of the frequent busses.
The staff appear to be mainly students and we had a bit of a wait checking in as one staff member appeared to be in training (but this was not signalled to us in any way). The room was very small (which we knew), in average condition, and the bathroom was most odd - very clinical, minimalist, with a hospital bathroom vibe.
For the price paid, the room and service received was expensive.
Not highly recommended."
"Firstly check in was easy. All staff met were so lovely and helpful. The room was modern and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent value. Breakfast was fantastic."
"I really enjoyed the hotel's location. It was close to just about everything in Milton Keynes, especially the shopping centre and the nearby walking areas, which I loved exploring. However, the hotel itself felt a bit dated, particularly the rooms. Given the price and the photos online, I was expecting something a little more modern and updated. Overall, though, it was a decent stay and the excellent location made up for some of the shortcomings."
"Overall, my stay was enjoyable & the staff were nothing but polite & helpful - I can see how hard everyone is working there to provide an excellent service but I have the following issues to report.
I stayed in 'Botham' which is a large room/suite.
1. There was a fault with the lights, meaning that the only light available to me was the 2 bedside lights - considering the room is a suite, this was inadequate. I reported the issue & the manager came quickly to try and resolve the matter, but despite resetting the trip, the lights kept tripping out. The hotel was fully booked, so a couple of portable LED lamps were provided - not great, but the best that could be done.
2. The sash window was jammed partly open, so noise from outside in the morning woke me at 6.45am.
3. The shower didn't drain properly, so when I stepped out of the shower, almost the whole bathroom floor was flooded.
4. The wall in the bathroom by the sink is badly marked (as a result of the towel rail becoming detached at some point by the look of it).
5. The ceiling in the pool looks a bit tatty, with quite a few slats missing.
6. I ordered a burger & fries & it was OK, nothing special in all honesty - just OK.
7. There is a low-frequency humming noise near the restaurant - could be an AC fan or something, but it's quite loud & detracts from the dining experience - it must drive the staff mad!
The hotel just needs some TLC & a bit of a spruce up, but despite the above points, I would stay again."
"Very corporate. Premier Inn and Travelodge do it better. We did complain about the quilt and it was replaced. Expect better quality bedding - lumpy pillows and duvets should not be allowed. Poor taste in bedroom art - who wants to wake up to bugs?"
