I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. Beijing is big and hectic, being able to return to tranquil and peaceful hotel after a days outing was very enjoyable. The rooms...

"The entire property seemed clean, well-maintained. It was difficult to find the hutong (alley) because the sign bearing the hutong's name was on the western side of the hutong wall, facing east, and I walked from the west looking for it. =)"

"Do not book this hotel on Expedia! The property did not appear on Amap or any other Chinese maps software. When we arrived at the property, it went under a different name, and we were told they didn’t have our booking information and that all rooms were full. Upon calling the phone number, we learned that this hotel was sold to a different owner. Essentially, this is a fake listing but will still take your money. DO NOT BOOK!!"
