"Lovely quiet place to stay with some great walking for the dog. My only niggle which I know you have to have but it is impossible to use the hob for anything fried as the smoke alarm goes off as it is almost directly above it even with windows and doors open. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay"

"We stayed here in October 25 for 4 night, 2 adults and 2 children. The home was immaculate when we arrived, we did not notice anything that was not correct. The home was warmed for our arrival and a lovely breakfast basket left out. The hosts went out of their way to ensure I had the most up to date guide of Northumberland which was lovely and they made sure I had all of the relevant information before we arrived for our holiday. Perfect location to explore Northumberland, Belford seemed to be 20 mins from every place we visited. Will definitely be returning."

"Just the best place for a single person or couple to experience Northumberland. Near to Bamburgh, Lindisfarne etc, as well as close to the Scottish border.Highly recommended."

"Perfect location for what we wanted to do. House is well equipped with modern appliances and decor. Fantastic shower in upstairs bathroom, perfect for 2 couples (and two younger children in bunk beds if you have them). Belford is a small village with very friendly people (especially the Black Swan - great music night on Sunday and Quiz on Thursday if that's your vibe). Close enough to get to towns (Alnwick, Berwick), castles (too many to mention but Bamburgh and Alnwick are the best) and natural history (Farne Islands for birdwatching). Overall a great stay!"

"My wife and I spent a very pleasant week at Cygnet Cottage, using it as a base to explore the Northumberland Coast and local area.This particular accommodation is ideal for a couple. The living area is well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen equipment all worked fine and there was an adequate supply of crockery, cutlery, and tools. The bathroom was small but perfectly usable with a decent, electric, shower. Upstairs was the bedroom with good storage facilities and a comfortable double bed which afforded a good night's sleep after our outings. We found the radiator settings too warm for our taste but used the switches on the boiler to override the standard timed settings. Note: We didn't touch the Timer Settings at all! :) Outside the parking area is not particularly large and is used by cottage guests and pub staff alike. No real issue, but we did park in the market square one particularly busy night.Richard and Jane were very pleasant hosts and their staff were fun and friendly on the couple of occasions that we availed ourselves of the very tasty menu offerings in the Black Swan."
