"A car is a must as it is located outside the city. The hotel is between France and Switzerland. There’s not much to do in the area probably it’s a best place to relax. There was some issue with the rooms assignment (our room was supposed to be double room while our friends -1 double & 1 sofa bed). All shops are closed on Sundays. Breakfast was good.Breakfast staff were very friendly. The bar staff in the evening can not understand. English- and very unfriendly. It was very challenging,I only asked for a glass instead of trying to understand of what I was trying to say she was making it hard for me to make her understand. I worked in customer service and half our clients are non English speakers but we go extra mile to understand them. Overall,we had a relaxing holiday. Geneva is a place where you visit once and that’s it. It’s a beautiful but expensive place."

"Nous avons bien apprécié notre séjours à l’hôtel de France à Evian. Le petit stationnement gratuit derrière l’hôtel n’est pas facile à trouver mais il est très pratique. Nous avions une belle chambre au 5e étage avec vue sur le lac Leman. Le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse est très bien. Le personnel est très avenant et courtois. C’est un excellent choix pour un court séjour à Evian."

"Very clean room. Shocked because photos of property do not match the actual property. Staff was strangely protective of water— the man at reception would not allow us to get a small glass of water from the dispenser “because we did not pay.” Room cleanliness is most important to me, thus the high rating. "The staff was very courteous, and caring. The breakfast was fantastic, and so was the proximity of the hotel to public transportation. The train station into Geneva and other destinations is less than a minute’s walk. I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again, and I recommend it highly. "
