Le Stanze del Principe

8/10 Good

"The biggest pro is the hostess is exceptionally kind and helpful, going above and beyond. She took special care to ensure we were well informed about how to get around Naples and what things were available to us. She even helped us carry some of our bags. The biggest con is the excessive number of stairs. We welcome walking around and exercising, but carrying luggages up several flights of long stairs was brutal. I would suggest the property listing be a bit more transparent about this. Each floor contains two sets, and the reception is on the second floor, and our room was on the third. Aside from that... Other pros include: - AC unit is magnificent. It works via remote control allowing you to control the temperature and fan speed. - I liked that they provided larger garbage bins (some hotels have tiny ones) - Good lighting in bedroom and bathroom - I appreciated being about to communicate to the reception via WhatsApp at anytime (again, she was the KINDEST host we've ever had) Other cons: - Area is a little noisy outside at night Other information that may be useful: The property is behind a wall. Go through the door. The reception is on the 2nd floor (4 flights of stairs) to the right. There are shared areas available for use. The metro station is close to the main street the b&b is one. Breakfast consists of a croissant and coffee at the bakery right outside the property area. Property is a bit older but clean. (Tried to add photos "+" button didn't work.)"

B&B Hotel Napoli

"The hotel B&B is located on the busy Piazza Garibaldi and therefore close to the railway station and buses. However, the size of the square means that taxi drivers may have difficulty finding it until you yourself know where to point them (especially as the name B&B is a little confusing). Despite the significant amount of traffic, the rooms are relatively quiet. They are clean and pleasant. The staff are, on the whole, helpful and pleasant, especially the manager. Breakfast is good, though can get a little sparse the later you leave it."

"The breakfast was above average. This restaurant also had a dinner menu which looked very good but we did not have dinner at the hotel. We selected this hotel because of its airport location which was very good except that the road to the airport was heavily trafficked so the walk included dirt and smells from many cars. The AC worked but the window unit was slow to cool the room. (Staying in 5 different hotels in Italy, some fine hotels, it was our experience Italians are stingy with the AC.) I would have given this hotel 5 stars except for the beds, OK at best."

"This property required a taxi ride to get to the downtown areas and the train station. But for the value and cleanliness of the hotel it was worth the taxi rides. The giant tub was wonderful after a long day of traveling. We enjoyed the Naples night life and food in a much quieter area."
