The Clonakilty Hotel

The Clonakilty Hotel

8/10 Good
"To say it’s rough around the edges is being kind. As a solo business traveller it is convenient and the second time I have stayed. Former IPAS centre and it shows. Little money has been spent on it to bring it back to a real hotel level. Continental breakfast was good. Parking is convenient. In the centre of the town and cheaper than other hotels around. Fine for me but if I brought the wife she would not be happy."

"Ridiculously hot in the room. Two electric fans were left in the room (to blow hot air around?)but the old style windows barely open and little breeze (on a reasonably breezy day) could get in to cool the room. The breakfast was good though and parking was plentiful. Didnt use the amenities."

10/10 Excellent
"One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had (and I do stay at 5-star places regularly). Spacious and clean room with great lighting and chairs and windows that open, and hooks, and big bottles of filtered water. Great food. The warmest, most welcoming staff ever, with sharp competent energy all of them, who never looked like they didn't want me to approach but instead were relaxed and made eye contact readily and seemed genuinely pleased to see me. I said once "I want to live here" and she said "we would love to have you" -- untrue I'm sure but SO KIND! Lovely garden, and many places to sit and relax and read and have tea. I genuinely cannot gush enough. Liam helped me hire a driver for a wonderful day out -- he is a treasure. THANK YOU HAYFIELD MANOR. I'll be back someday."

"Place was beautiful. Room has a loud noise going next to it and the bathroom trashcan was not emptied - sanitary napkins in it - gross. Other than that it was fine."
