A little further south is the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a fabulous day out; just don’t get caught by the incoming tide and get stranded on the other side of the causeway.
The Beaches at Lowick and Goswick are well worth a visit and don’t be surprised if you’re the only people on the 3-mile stretch of sand. Guests will be surprised to be able to access both Edinburgh and Glasgow well within an hour by rail from Berwick Train Station.
