I highly recommended Eastgate, Paul made us feel very welcome, invited us to use his indoor swimming pool and hot tub, our room was very clean, lovely comfortably bed, the kitchen had every utensil we needed to cook with, I would definitely stay again.
The location was great to take some time to enjoy the sea breeze whilst also having a warm panoramic view to keep the spirits up when working online. Facilities for self catering were great and a welcome offer of some food basics to get me started meant I didn't have to go out at an unsociable hour to find a hot drink and a slice of toast.
So much nicer for me than staying in a hotel.
Amazing. This was our third trip to the same property. Paul is friendly and welcoming, the property is immaculate with great facilities and in a fantastic location. Kitchen stocked with loads of basics, indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, spacious and comfortable bedrooms and bathroom, what more could you ask for?! Right by the sea, and a short drive from Berwick. We will 100% be back again next time we get the chance. Thanks so much, it is fast becoming our favourite place.
Fantastic stay at Eastwatch. Great facilities especially pool, sauna and hot tub but they were just the icing on the cake. Paul the owner very helpful and gave a guided tour on arrival. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Very friendly host showed us all the facilities we can use and how to use them including swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and kitchen appliances. Comfortable clean room and beautiful view of the sea from the window including some dolphins in the morning. Host gave us plenty of space and was unobtrusive which made a very pleasant stay.
Fantastic guest house! Love the fact you have a self service breakfast and full access to a kitchen. The pool, sauna and hot tub were a brilliant addition! We had a great time! Hosts were brilliant, attention to detail was second to none - even provided de icer for us to clear the frost from our cars. Booked for another stay as soon as we got home!
Stayed here for 2 nights as going to a friends wedding was greeted at the door by the owner was given a small tour of the place and shown to rooms, room we stayed in was the stag room the bed was really comfortable and we had our own shower room which was just across the hallway which might bother some people but not us the place was right next to the beach so we enjoyed a lovely walk along the front in the morning there was also a small kitchen there where we could help ourselves to drinks and make meals as required would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely stay there again.
Guest house was immaculate. It is self catering with a shared guest kitchen. The owner, Paul, keeps the kitchen stocked with basics to get you started (fresh bread, eggs, milk, cereal, tea and coffee) which was great for grabbing a light breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean with a view looking out over the North Sea.
A pleasant 25 minute walk takes you into Berwick town centre where there are a variety of pubs and restaurants for an evening meal.
I would definitely stay here again.
Great 2 night stay. Good communication from host prior to arrival, welcomed and shown around when we arrived. Host was welcoming and relaxed. Excellent amenities, guests have access to a pool, hot tub, and sauna. Room was a good size, contained everything you might need. Beds very comfy, rooms peaceful. The whole place was very clean. Kitchen space was great, very well equipped and perfect for those who are up early or late. The setup lent itself perfectly to our plans of going sightseeing throughout our time there.
Great price too. Would definitely stay again.
Absolutely beautiful place. We were kept up to date about our room being ready, during our journey. On arrival, we were personally greeted by Paul, who gave us a parking permit and showed us around his beautiful house. Every last detail is covered, from shower gel and dressing gowns, to a tin opener and a garlic press! The kitchen is stocked with basics such as juice, eggs, milk and bread that you can use as you wish and has separate bins for recycling which was a great touch. It's a lovely setting, right by the beach and a short drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed. The hot tub and pool were a great hit for us parents, and the kids. We will definitely be back. Thanks a lot
We had good communication from the host and were warmly welcomed. After the facilities were explained we were left to enjoy our stay safe in the knowledge that the hosts were available if required.
Our room Stag was to the front of the property and we enjoyed a sea view, as well as the sounds of the sea!
The room was very clean and comfortable.
Our bathroom was across the corridor but this was no less convenient than an actual ensuite.
We enjoyed the hospitality offered by way of breakfast provisions which we ate in the kitchen overlooking the sea. The kitchen is well equipped and can be used at any time to prepare your own food for eating in or for picnics.
The additional features of the indoor pool, sauna and hot tub puts Eastwatch guesthouse on another level.
Robes and towels are provided and there are changing rooms and a shower in the leisure area .
Eastwatch offered everything we were looking for and this type of" set up" is unique and can be highly recommended.
We stayed in the Bear room which was en-suite and had a double bed plus a large sofa (assume sofa bed). It was all clean. Powerful shower, tv, desk, hairdryer, etc. The room on the ground floor and was large. It had a sea view which was lovely. Upstairs was the shared kitchen which was well equipped to make meals or just have take out (including take out delivery). Also sea view from that room too. Cereal, eggs, milk, tea, coffee, bread, butter and orange juice was available for guests to help themselves to for breakfast. There were labels too so you could label food and store it in the fridge. There was a freezer too but we didn’t use it. We used the sauna, pool and jacuzzi which was great. Shame we only had time to use those facilities once. We thought we were staying in Berwick until two days before our trip! However it wasn’t too far from Berwick. We walked there the first night to get something to eat and it took 30-35 minutes and it was a nice walk. It was lovely being so close to the beach. Sandy near Eastgate and with lots of rocks 5-10 minutes up the coast which would have been great for kids. There was also a coffee/ice cream shop on the forefront 2 minutes from Eastgate and a children’s playground and splash pool which looked good. Paul was friendly and helpful. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. Great place to stay. We hope to go back!
Eastwatch was different to anywhere I've stayed before as in you have a bedroom and a bathroom but share a kitchen with the other guests so can cook and eat whenever you want. Paul was lovely and his home is amazing.
We used the hot tub which we really loved. We didn't get chance to use the sauna or pool, but definitely take your swimming gear and take full advantage!
There's nothing really close by but town isn't far and it's located right on the beach and there's lots of places visit within a short drive.
I would definitely recommend Eastwatch Guesthouse
Had a lovely short break at Eastwatch; it's a perfect place for exploring Berwick and the surrounding area. Paul is a great host, and the facilities are fantastic - lovely shared kitchen, beautiful swimming pool and very relaxing hot-tub!
We'll definitely be back.
The owner Paul and his partner were very friendly and showed us round on arrival. The place was spotless with great facilities Fully equipped kitchen, swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. The position of the house on the seafront was spectacular and within walking distance of Berwick. Great place to stay.
Stylish guesthouse with great facilities - pool, hot tub and sauna. Sea view. Owners friendly.
We stayed a week in Bear, being a triple was nice and spacious, but the bed was very soft. Windows only open 3 inches which we didn't like at all. Poor ventilation in general and over use of fragrances in and out of the rooms. Even my camera smelled of the room when we got home.
Other guests helped themselves to our food in the fridge on the last morning.
Berwick is a good base to explore the area.
