The room and the whole house was spotlessly clean. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating. We loved the breakfast, the choice and the breakfast room. Thank you for a lovely stay and your helpfulness.

Lovely B&B

Our second stay with Ruth and Ian, a lovely friendly couple who go all out to provide a comfortable visit. Great breakfast choice, cosy beds, light airy rooms with windows that open !! ( rare in some places ) fresh milk and plenty refreshments. If ever in the area again we would definitely stay with them.

The room was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought had been put into it from the lovely selection of toiletries to the extras provided like ear plugs and make up remover towels. Loved it.

A very welcoming and very comfortable place to stay, I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night break. The location is excellent, the breakfast was outstanding and the area itself is lovely. A special thanks to Ruth and Ian for giving me the info on local cycling routes.

Worth a visit

Don’t be put off by first impressions of the town! Lovely attentive host who was happy to advise on best places to visit. It was a Good room but a little small. Good breakfast cooked to order and good quality ingredients. Certainly worthy of another stay.

Location a few minutes walk to rail station and bus stops for services to Eyemouth, Seahouse and when tide is out to Holy Island. Lovely welcome and excellent hospitality. All features were considered with likely requirements from guests super.

Having travelled by train the location was ideal being only a couple of minutes walk away. Ian and Ruth the owners are very welcoming and provide a wonderful breakfast selection. The room was extremely comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep after exploring the town and surrounding area.

Would we go back?

Ian and Ruth were very attentive hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They assisted greatly with parking and other local knowledge. Comfortable beds and pillows and big soft towels. A lovely fresh breakfast every morning ~ very professional looking poached eggs :-) Would we go back? Yes without hesitation :-)

Brilliant guest house!

We stayed at Cowrie guest House for 3 nights. Ruth and Ian were very welcoming. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, we had everything we needed. The house itself is beautiful and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was amazing! As well as the usual cooked breakfast there was a special to choose from every day as an alternative. I had scrambled eggs on a croissant one day and french toast with bacon and blueberries on other days. All delicious! We would not hesitate to stay here again if back in Berwick.

The Cowrie Guest House is *the* place to stay if you're visiting Berwick. Ian and Ruth are terrific hosts. They're incredibly friendly and accomodating people. I left early for a hike one morning and they prepared a take away breakfast for me separate from what they normally prepared for breakfast. The house is beautiful, clean, and cozy. It is also easily accessible to the train station and walkable to the rest of Berwick. Ruth also has a business crafting beautiful sea glass jewelry--definitely worth a look. I'll certainly look to be staying with Ian and Ruth the next time I'm in Berwick.

If you're looking for a charming and comfortable place to stay in Berwick-upon-Tweed, look no further than the Cowrie Guest House! My stay there was absolutely delightful, and it deserves every one of its 5 stars. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the host, Ian. The warm hospitality made me feel right at home. Ian and Ruth were incredibly helpful throughout my stay, offering recommendations for things to see and do in Berwick, and always happy to answer any questions I had. The guest house itself is beautifully maintained. My room was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a comfy bed that guaranteed a good night's sleep. Breakfast was another highlight - a delicious way to start the day. The location of the Cowrie Guest House is perfect for exploring Berwick. It's within walking distance of all the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. But what truly sets this place apart is the genuine care and attention to detail from Ian and Ruth. They've created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying with friends, not just in a guest house. Overall, I can't recommend the Cowrie Guest House highly enough. If you're planning a trip to Berwick, this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed!

We stayed here for 2 nights.. the guest house is in a great location and the room was lovely. The owners were great and friendly. Breakfast was perfect and for the price we paid the whole experience was amazing.. 😊
