Perfect retreat
The Shippen is absolutely beautiful! Spotlessly clean and well equipped to make it home from home. Location great for many places and has a superb garden to enjoy when you just want to relax for the day. Stayed here twice and will definitely return next year.

Another perfect stay
We have stayed at The Shippen several times now and every stay is perfect. It had a great location, perfect for visiting our favourite places in North Cornwall. The cottage is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and decorated and incredibly comfortable. Many thanks for another great stay!

Lovely cottage for a week away
Great location to explore North Cornwall. Lovely garden off limits as it was damp! Property immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly need. Also had those added extras like cleaning stuff and dishwasher tabs that you often end up buying when away in a rental. Host was available as needed and, as others had mentioned, left us a lovely tea for arrival which was much appreciated. Local pub was welcoming though the cafe and shop were both closed whilst we were there. We ended up using the local farm shops which was expensive but a nice treat!

Wonderful!
This cottage was perfect in every way. The little village was lovely with a children’s park and cafe close enough to walk to. Everything else is a drive away but not far at all for lovely beaches and farm shops. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Enjoyable family holiday
The Shippen is a lovely property with a large garden and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The garden is lovely and both our grandchildren and our dog could run around outside without us worrying about their safety. The only downside is the location as the road leading from the property doesn’t have a footpath and there was nowhere nearby to walk our dog. The owner communicated well with us and informed me that the tumble dryer was not working eventually getting it replaced with a new one.

Fantastic week at The Shippen!
A brilliant holiday in North Cornwall with my mum, my husband, two children (14 and 12) and the dog! The Shippen is all on one level with a lovely, comfortable lounge/diner, large kitchen with a big table, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and ensuite toilet and separate shower. The garden is incredible and I do wish the weather had been warmer and drier so we could have eaten out there. As it was, we snatched moments when it was sunny... my favourite spot was right at the top of the garden, looking out over the Cornish countryside. The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of cutlery, crockery, also a coffee machine, dishwasher tablets etc. The Prosecco and cream tea on arrival was delightful. My only niggle was the double bed - we think it's a small double as the pillows overhang slightly off the edge. Neither my husband nor I are 'big' but we really struggled to sleep comfortably together. One night he slept on the sofa and I had a much better night. I can see that no one else has commented on this at all so I think it must just be us! We enjoyed a fantastic roast lunch at the Old Inn, St Breward. Also recommend the stables at Hallagenna for a ride on the moors. Trebarwith Strand is beautiful (check the tide times as it's a tidal beach), also loved Daymer Bay. We walked twice on Pentire/The Rumps/Baby Bay as we liked it so much! Thank you, Liz for all the communications, excellent directions etc and for offering such a wonderful holiday home. We do hope to return!

Just brilliant!
I wasnt expecting such a high level of cleanliness from a dog-friendly property, but it was amazing! Liz has thought of everything inside and outside too! Our guests included a 5 year old, a 90 year old and a few inbetween and we all loved the place! The welcome scones and prosecco was an absolute treat after a big drive and the information pack helped us plan our week while we ate/ drank them. If we could have just booked more sunshine, we could have used the firepit and bbq! We definitely want to visit The Shippen and St Teath again. Xx
