Bordeaux is the worldfamous for being the world’s winecountry. Bordeaux has few hillsand features 580 kilometres of paved bike paths, making the bicycle the idealmode of transport for visitors. You can get anywhere in the city centre bybike, so why not use the loan bicycle project, which has stations throughoutthe city. Winters in Bordeaux are mild, so cyclingis no problem all year round. However, it never hurts to bring a raincoat, evenin summer... just in case.

The city’s main attractions are found in the historiccentre, close to the cultural institutions. Visit the RueSainte Catherine in the pedestrian zone and shop until you drop. Or climbthe more than 200 steps to the top of the tower of the Gothic Basilica St. Micheland simply enjoy the view. The Musée D'Art Contemporain is a must-see for anyart lover. People who prefer to be outside will also find the botanic gardenamazing.

If you've explored the city once, it's time totaste its products, and a good start for this is the vineyards surrounding thetown. The region is world famous for its wine production and tours of the mostfamous wineries can be organised from the centre of the city.

Bordeaux is 50 kilometresfrom the southwest coast of France.There are good bus and train connections with Barcelona, Marseille or Paris andit also has its own international airport.
