Arkle House is a gorgeous holiday home-from-home for up to four guests and two dogs, set in the popular market town of Amble, Northumberland. You can enjoy an array shops, restaurants and pubs within a short walking distance.
The property offers a cosy lounge with wood burning stove, and a dining area with seating for up to six. There's also a fully-equipped kitchen with additional seating for up to four.
Arkle House has two bedrooms – a master bedroom with king-size bed and sofa, and a twin room with en-suite – this is perfect for small families or couples holidaying together. There is also a main bathroom with bath and shower.
In the summer, you'll love relaxing in the spacious garden with patio furniture.
We’re happy to welcome dogs at our property. We just ask that they aren’t left alone inside. If you’d like to leave your dog safely crated while you’re out, we can arrange this with a refundable deposit, returned in full as long as everything is left in good condition.
You'll find a washer, dryer and storage space in the utility room with access to the back garden. The property also offers a gated driveway and use of the garage if needed for a small car. There is off-street parking directly outside of the cottage.

A very suitable property, of high standard in all aspects. Warm and comfortable, in quiet area.

Lovely imaculate bungalow in the perfect location for touring, lots of great restaurants within walking distance and ample supermarkets for shopping. Will happily stay again.
Booked for parents golden wedding anniversary and they enjoyed there stay, had everything they needed and even left a wee card along with the welcome basket which was very thoughtful, very clean cottage and bigger than expected they had a great time here.
We used Arkle Cottage as our base which was good for visiting the surrounding area.Plenty choice of eateries in Amble all within walking distance of the residence.Completely enclosed rear garden which was good for our dogs
This bungalow is amazing, had everything you could possible want, extremely comfortable, well equipped, clean and quiet. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely stay at Ariel House. The bungalow was beautifully clean and had everything we needed. Location was great, a short easy stroll down to the harbour and little beach. Also easy to drive to many different places of interest. Barbara was very easy to contact and very helpful. We had a lovely stay, thank you!

We stayed here over the Christmas Holiday 2025.This is a lovely property on a quiet street. The hosts had tastefully decorated it for Christmas and had left us a very nice welcome basket.It is a very clean, warm property and a lot of thought has gone into equipping it for a comfortable stay.The rear garden is dog-secure and we were happy for Teddy to be let out into it.It is about a steady 30 minute walk to Amble harbour. There is a recreation area at the end of the street which is (subject to the usual 'clean up expectations') great for exercising your dog.We would be happy to return to this property.
Arkle House gave us a fabulous break. House was very clean and exactly as described. Hosts had excellent communication and the welcome pack was fab. The scones were delicious!!

For anyone staying, would highly recommend food from the fish shack restaurant in the harbour village.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Cannot praise this accomodation enough. We had two wonderful weeks here in Amble. Friendly and vibrant area. Lots to see and do. The bungalow was pristine. So warm and inviting with everything you need. Comfortable beds,super hot shower and a bath if you prefer. Garden was very private and secure.I just cannot fault this place and will be back as soon as we can. Thank you Barbara and Mick for the lovely welcoming basket and the up to date information on and before arrival.
We loved it here. Good communication from the owners making it an easy check in. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden is very safe and secure for dogs even for little escape artists like ours. Well located with lots of local amenities and shops in walking distance. A great base for exploring Northumberland. Can highly recommend.
The property was well cared for both inside and out, with a lovely safe garden for sitting in and ideal for dogs, and it would be for children. The welcome pack was extremely generous and all communication from the owner was timely and kind. The driveway is quite short but does take a large SUV. I would definitely return.
