View of Bras d’or Lake. 20 minutes from Sydney. Gas station right beside. Restaurant on premise. Much better price than Sydney hotels. Overall, everything good.

Great place.Close to Sydney.Reasonable rates.Super clean and comfortable room. Only minor issue I had was there was a good amount of old nails and screws on the ground by the office entrance.Scaffolding told me some renovations where taking place but the hazard of ending up with a flat was real.But again, other than that I would recommend Kow,s Inn to anyone anytime

No one was at the property upon arrival, even though I had a confirmed reservation a week prior. I called a number left for delivery drivers that was posted in the window, and they sent someone who arrived 10-15 minutes later. Once I got into the room they left, and I was alone at the property. The person opened the room and turned on the heat, as it was very cold. The room was dusty, with the previous persons phone charger still plugged in. There was a stain in the tub that I had to wash out. To get the room warm took hours, and the next morning when I took a shower, there was no water pressure, or hot water. Not a great experience, however, I would imagine once they are in their peak tourist season, these issues would not be in play.

On arrival, the heating/AC unit did not work. It took two tries before the owner moved me to another room. The new room did not have a working light in the bathroom. While testing the hair dryer, I had to push a reset button on an outlet, which also turned the lights on. These rooms were not ready for a guest. The owner was also not always available because she ran the restaurant. The actual room was comfortable and large.

The room we were given was a room attached to a house in back of the motel/restaurant. Room was newly renovated but no outdoor lighting. Had to use my flashlight on my phone. Price was too high for our stay. Were able to get a meal before closing.

You check in at the restaurant. No in room coffee. Can not check out early: you have to wait for restaurant to open at 7:30-8am. Room was clean.

When we went to check in, the restaurant and the hotel were both closed. No employees there, no cars in the parking lot. We made a reservation online weeks before, and no one was there when we showed up. They left a note on the locked door, we did not stay.

There was 1 out of 4 light bulbs in the bathroom fixture. One of the wall fixture in the bedroom was broken. Wires were hanging behind the TV. Beds and floors were clean and lady at the front desk was very nice. They just need to do some fixing.

This little inn is easy to get to and was very clean and updated. The restaurant was closed so had nowhere to eat dinner except at Robin’s next door for a prepackaged sub. Otherwise everything was great. Friendly staff and owner.

Very convenient to catching the ferry to Newfoundland and getting around Cape Breton to see some local KitchenFest events. Loved coming in at 3pm, after driving around all day, and being able to order breakfast in the restaurant!

They have a reasonable priced and efficent restaurant used to also check in.There was no phone in room for emergencies,and no coffee maker in room.They expected you to purchase at eating establishment where they charged current room rates for the area..You had to park in the restaurant lot and not by your rioom

Kow Inn's location just off the highway may not seem appealing, but it is very convenient and a relatively short drive to Sydney. It's a good spot if you are driving from Halifax and staying for one night before heading over to Cabot Trail. Breakfast was available for a minimal fee and it was decent, although slightly cooked with a bit extra oil.
