The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't stopped our love of exploring. Here are a few tips on how to navigate the new challenges of travelling:

• Understand what rules and restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
