    Escape to this Grade II listed home near Bath, combining a 1660 cottage with the historic Forge annexe for 5 bedrooms sleeping 8 guests + a child. Set among rolling Somerset hills with countryside walks from the doorstep, plus private driveway parking with EV charger.



    The Space:

    Escape to this exceptional countryside retreat near Bath, combining a Grade II listed cottage dating back to 1660 with the charming Forge annexe to create a unique getaway for families and groups. Bursting with original character, from exposed beams and vaulted ceilings to flagstone floors and impressive fireplaces, the property blends centuries of history with modern comfort.



    The main is centred around a well-equipped farmhouse kitchen featuring an oven, coffee machine, blender and everything needed for memorable meals together. The adjoining dining room is bright and airy, opening through French doors onto the patio. The spacious living room offers two comfortable seating areas, a large smart TV and striking original fireplaces, while a dedicated study with dual workstations and a gym with exercise bike and weights provide practical touches.



    The house sleeps 4 adults and 1 child across a stunning king bedroom with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, ensuite shower room and French doors to the patio. Alongside a double bedroom and a single room with floor mattress only suited to children. A family bathroom with bath and overhead shower completes the accommodation. You'll also find a downstairs WC and utility room.



    Outside, enjoy true indoor-outdoor living with an impressive entertaining space featuring an outdoor kitchen, Kamado Jo BBQ, pizza oven and dining patio. Steps lead to a secluded garden with a hot tub and comfortable sofa seating, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Somerset. To top it all off, you can help yourself to fresh eggs from the 3 lovely hens!



    The adjoining Forge annexe adds character and flexibility, sleeping a further four guests. Once the blacksmith's forge for the village, it now features a bright open-plan living space with vaulted ceilings, original beams, a well-equipped kitchen, ground-floor double bedroom and shower room, plus a quirky mezzanine with a twin trundle bed and two desks. A private seating area and beautiful countryside walks just two minutes from the doorstep complete this historic retreat.



    With private driveway parking with EV charger, exceptional outdoor spaces and easy access to Bath and the rolling Somerset hills, this one-of-a-kind property is perfect for memorable gatherings with family and friends. A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome.

The recently refurbished Wheatsheaf at Corston, just down the road, serves outstanding seasonal dishes and hosts popular monthly supper clubs.     Getting Around:

    Due to the remote nature of rural Somerset, a vehicle is recommended to make the most of your stay here. Free parking for one vehicle on the driveway with ample free on street parking. An EV charger is also available.



    Other Things to Note:

    We welcome a maximum of 2 dogs on the condition they are kept off sofas, out of bedrooms and not left in the property unattended.



    There are 3 chickens in the garden inside an enclosure. They are cared for by a neighbour who you may encounter during your stay.



    Please note, the AGA is not turned on during the summer.
