"We stayed over at the Lloyd Hoxton for a hen do/bachelorette party in Amsterdam. We arrived at the hotel, just a short walk from the tram stop which was super useful. Sadly there was no signage from that side, so we entered the hotel through the restaurant. Check in wasn't smooth, struggled to find our reservation, stating that we only had 2 rooms instead of 3. When finally the reservation was found, only 2 rooms were ready and we had to wait for the other one. Also, we wanted to split the full amount between the 5 people who were travelling together, but the person in reception seemed to be fairly new and didn't know how to do this, also no one who was there with her in reception offered her any help to solve this matter. We ended up having leave a pending amount for the whole bill on a credit card and have to wait to pay during checkout. Out of the 2 rooms that were ready, one was as advertised (room 503). Sadly the other one didn't have aircon, which was awful during the heatwave, there was no water or milk in the fridge as the other one (room 512). The remaining room that was not ready yet, when it was available to go in, it was also missing water, milk as well as toilet paper. Due to the wait during check in, we received vouchers for a free drink at the bar which was nice. Sadly, when we tried to order a bottle of wine to share after our drinks were done, which never turned up even asking the waiters 4 times. Expensive hotel for it to be this poorly run."

"Hotel is going through renovations and currently only one lift works. Given we were on the third floor it was rather inconvenient to get around the hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful for checking in and out. The rooms are ok. Nothing special so would not book a delux next time as it was not what we expected to get. Other than that it was a lovely place and very ideal spot PSA. They only clean rooms every 3 days if you remember to put out the door sign"

"Very dissatisfied. Room size smaller than my room on cruise ship. A/C in room did not work no matter how we adjusted thermostat. View from room was of other hotel rooms. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this was very overpriced for quality of room. Checking out to get bill copy was a complete "train wreck". No order or directions to make check out easier. I could have done express check out, but i wanted to see my bill to be sure it was correct. As a Hilton Honors member, I could not recommend this property to others."

"It was a good hotel, but after my experience with them I wouldn’t book it again. I booked through Expedia, and when I booked the room I received an error on their website to say something had went wrong, so I subsequently went and carried out the process again. Even though there was an error, the original booking had indeed went through and I had been charged twice. After bringing this to the attention of Expedia and the hotel I have received no support from either of the, especially Expedia, and they are not willing to offer a refund for something that was a problem on their side. The hotel is nice, but the rooms are tiny, the bathroom especially. There are plenty hotels in Amsterdam, and after my experience I’d give this one a miss and go somewhere else."
