We LOVED this hotel. Definitely our favorite hotel during our 2 week Europe vacation. We loved the furniture (did you know the owner made it?) and charm of the hotel. Also, their breakfast charmed the hell out of me. It felt high quality and well thought out.
The owner talked with us in the downstairs bar for at least an hour. The bar was so magical! You just don't see places like that here in the US (midwest, anyway). They also gave us our check out gift (Belgian chocolates!) early since they knew we would be catching the first train out of town.
A nice property with cheerful staff. Absence of an elevator is bothersome if you must schlep a 40 pound suitcase to the 2nd floor. Front desk receptionist was kind enough to carry one of the bags up for us. That 2nd floor is actually the 3rd floor, if you count entering the hotel from the street via 5 or 6 steep stair-steps. WI-Fi worked for me in the reception area, but would not connect in the room on the "2nd" floor. The hotel should add a Wi-Fi access point on that floor or amp up the router range.
Had 4 nights in Bruges. Hotel was very inviting and very well placed for everything. May not have its own parking but underground parking is less than 5 minute walk away and only €8.70 per 24 hours. Fresh continental breakfast everyday, just wish their lovely bar was open more often. We would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is in a good location-close to the sights and in a quite neighborhood. Hotel is currently under renovation, so there was some disruption. The biggest problem with this hotel is lack of service. We had a room without a shower. Once I discovered we didn't have a shower, I went and talk to the owner. She told me there is only one room in our room category with a shower, and the only other room is a family room. She stated over and over again, the family room was more expensive and she was going to lose business if she gave us the room. We were the only people staying at the hotel for the days we were there. Will not stay there again.
