We booked for two nights at this cottage but unfortunately, our experience was so bad that we left after the first night and went home. After we eventually found the property (signage and directions were not great) we found it unlocked with no key. There was one electric heater in the living room but otherwise the central heating did not work and it was a chilly evening. The thermostat did not rise above 16 degrees. The hot water at the sink was barely lukewarm so we didn’t even attempt a shower. Whilst superficially clean, the showers were dirty and there were cobwebs everywhere including above our beds. The pots and pans were dirty and had to be cleaned before we could use them. No bin liners and no clean sponge. There was a lady bird infestation which meant we couldn’t use the third bedroom as the lady birds were in the bed! The bed linen and towels felt damp to the touch probably because the cottage was not adequately heated and personally I would not give such worn stained towels to guests. Such a shame as the cottage is beautiful as is the location. I have complained to VRBO and cottages.com and requested a refund for the second evening but so far heard nothing!
