Snipe cottage, Historic Barn with Breathtaking views. Pet Friendly. EV type 2.

  • Ridgehead Farm Cottages were created in 2008 by converting a 200 year old historic barn into 2 luxury cottages, Snipe and Curlew, they are both rated at the top end of 4 star by the tourist board. Set at 1500ft on a 80 acre equine farm within a site of Special Scientific Interest, they offer stunning views and year round peace and tranquillity yet are conveniently located for local amenities and exploring the Peak District. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 so are perfect for families or couples, the 2 cottages can be booked together (10% discount) to sleep 8. With underfloor heating downstairs and in all bathrooms they provide a warm, cosy retreat at the end of the day.
    EV charger now available for use of guests, has type 2 cable fitting most modern electric vehicles. Charging costs at domestic rates.

Lovely comfortable property, perfect for our needs. Great to have a separate loo downstairs in addition to the two bathrooms upstairs in our barn conversion (there appears to be another rental here). Well equipped and Jo was very friendly, helpful and advised on best places to go, eat and places to check out in the local area. Beautiful views and tranquil setting, enjoyed the sound of the cuckoo outside! Thanks for the wine and biscuits! Would love to stay again.

Lovely property & location

Beautiful house, so lovely and warm with everything we needed set in a spectacular location. Despite the wind and rain we had a great time and managed to do some lovely walks in the better days.

This may be an old barn but it has been beautifully renovated and is a spacious, comfortable and cosy place to stay while in the Peak District. It is in a stunning location and Jo made us feel very welcome and was very helpful throughout our stay.

Snipe Cottage is warm, comfortable and has an outside area where a dog can happily enjoy a game of catch-that-stick. The views are impressive and the location gives easy access to Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and other smaller places. Great eateries nearby!

Cosy cottage in a great location

We stayed in Snipe Cottage which was lovely…a home from home with everything you need! It’s warm and comfortable and in a beautiful location…lovely being on the farm with friendly sheep and seeing the horses was great too. Would definitely book to stay again. Thank you!

Amazing Cottage - Home from Home

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Just like home from home. Host was very welcoming and very helpful. Couldn’t fault the place, everything you needed for a perfect stay. A great central location to travel to areas around. We will definitely be back as we still have so much to see around the area.
