"The Portpatrick hotel is situated on the hill above the small harbour of Portpatrick . The staff are pleasant and helpful. The hotel has the ambience of a grand old Victorian house. There is a piano lounge with a door out to the terrace over looking the harbour with views of the harbour and across the Irish Sea . There are steps down to the village with its bars and restaurants and play area for children . It is very well placed for Portpatrick golf club . The food , whilst a limited choice was very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent. There is a games room with a pool table and a bar which is quite well stocked. There is a decent amount of free parking. The outstanding aspect for me though is the views . The Mountains of Morne were visible across the sea and the sunsets amazing. It’s worth the drive to get there."

"We stayed here while attending a wedding at the nearby Trump Turnberry hotel. The hotel is a short 15-minute drive from Turnberry and right on the coast road with fantastic views. The hotel has an ample car park and spacious rooms. We found the rooms perfect for our 1-night stay. Included in the room rate are various cold breakfast items like cereals, croissaints, ham in the fridge, fruit yougarts, milk for making tea/coffee. I would not hesitate to recommend this superb hotel."
