"The building is old and the rooms are bare bones. The bathtub looked old and had rust in some areas, and the tap was faulty so could not pull it all the way up to take full advantage of the shower. The window as just a small portion of a very long wall so the room was quite dark."

"We booked the Royal Sonesta because we had an amazing stay with the Royal Sonesta in Chicago. In reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little worried. We arrived at the hotel early. We were pleased to find out we had been upgraded for free and were allowed to check in early. The fees were exactly as stated in the pre-arrival email and noted by hotels.com so no surprises! The room was definitely worn, but very clean (didn’t see any bugs the whole week) and perfect for what we needed. The water pressure was awful, but the water was nice and hot. We enjoyed the courtyard, pool area, Le Booze, the Jazz Playhouse, and PJs Coffee while we were there. Of course there was a little noise, but we welcomed it; it was the whole reason we booked on Bourbon Street! The staff was friendly and helped notify us about airport issues upon departure. My only wish list items would be better water pressure, a microwave in the room, and a door man during the week. Absolutely worth the price and will definitely stay again!"

"I was charged more for my room than what was on my invoice when booking. I was also charged more for valet then what I was told the cost was. Also when I went to have valet bring my car back around, I was told they had called in for the night and if my car wasn’t out front, it was probably parked down the road to the neck block and then in a lot down there. They were not able to provide a physical address of where my vehicle was. I was handed the keys and on my way to find my vehicle. I was quoted $48/day for valet and charged $58/day and my car wasn’t even brought up. I wasn’t offered a refund of any of the parking fees, just handed my keys and an oh well look. "
