Not up to Par
Throughout many years we've rented homes for our family of 8. We rented this home from VRBO from 9/3 to 9/8/20. Upon confirmation of reservation, with no cancellation refund, emails began to come in from the management company that did not exactly detailed or list all charges that were on the check out email half way into your stay. There is also a sign posted in the kitchen area. Pretty much anything can trigger additional charges during your stay. Our activities consisted of boating and fishing during the day and returning at sunset to have dinner and enjoy the pool. Below are some of the main issues we experienced.
1. AC did not cool the bottom master rooms and there is a sign at the thermostat for lowest set temp 72 or it will freeze renter pays the repair charges from your deposit. We notified the PM Stephen on Friday morning to allow the house to cool completely. Although very responsive and sending a tech to fix, the issue persisted so we had to use the provided fans to make the rest of our stay bearable. It was obvious this was a known issue, not the fixed capacitor, as the previous renters had the same issue.
3. Beds in every room were stiff and uncomfortable.
4. Towels old and worn out grayish color- yet their email states there is a charge for missing towels.
4. There is a cleaning fee and also overage of electricity however they ask prior to your departure to have the dishwasher started and towels washed to get a head start for the cleaning crew. This is common practice in any vacation home however they are charging you extra to do this for them. Our overage charges were minimal as we did consciously conserve the usage, however it would have been nice to receive a detail of the overage prior to processing. we had to call the company to find out the calculation method as the amount was not correct from the meter pictures we forwarded. NOTE:the calculation is prorated per rental night.
5. Saturday returning from boating around 7:45pm received a threatening message to keep noise level to a minimum or we would be asked to leave if they receive another phone call from neighbors. Our noise level was normal and not excessive at all. This made the rest of our stay a bit stressful as to not upset neighbors who apparently have previous issue with the property being rented.
