I stayed at The Sofia Hotel in downtown San Diego and loved its mix of historic charm and modern comfort. The location is excellent—just steps from the Gaslamp Quarter, the waterfront, and conveniently close to the Santa Fe train station, making travel super easy.

Overall hotel was good. Pool was small for the size of facility. Busy after a padres game day. Under the cabinets could be cleaned up. We check to make sure our kids haven’t miss placed anything, could use a cleaning under there.

The property was in a great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. It was also steps from the beach.
I booked two rooms separately through Expedia and each room came with a $45 parking credit. The hotel would only allow one credit even though each reservation came with that credit. This was very disappointing.
Also, the property was very clean but the carpet in my room had a hole in it! This was no big deal but the for the price I paid for each room this is something I would not expect. I told them about it when I left so hopefully this will be fixed for the next guest.

"Check in time is normally 4 PM but they sent us a text saying our room was ready earlier. Thankful for that the room we have faces the street you do hear a little bit of the traffic. "Although the property is somewhat older. The room was comfortable. We were able to check in early. Breakfast was fine with many choices. Property located across the street from the beach .Carlsbad village is close by and there are many dining choices. Staff are pleasant and helpful."
