Lovely stay.
Lovely experience from start to finish. Julie and Jim were very welcoming on arrival. The lodge is well taken care of and has everything you need for a stay away from home. It’s a great base to relax and/or explore.

Just what we both needed. The wooden veranda caught the sun perfectly all day, Retiring in the evening to a cosy clean interior. Close to Morecambe and Kendal. With Carnforth a 10 minute drive for your necessities shopping. The owners were friendly, it was hard to stop chatting and depart. All in all a delightful experience.

SUPERB LODGE & LOCATION
The property was exactly as described with the quality of furnishings, fixtures and fittings all to an extremely high standard. The location and situation of the lodge allows you to make the most of any sunshine at all times of the day and the quiet well maintained complex is a pleasure to visit. Julie & Jim were excellent hosts and made sure we were soon settled into the lodge with the minimum of fuss. Nothing was to much trouble and it was a pleasure to meet them. The complex is located within easy reach of public transport allowing the car to be "left at home" if need be. Would certainly visit the accommodation again and can certainly understand why it is so popular. A big thanks to Julie & Jim.

Excellent stay
We had such a wonderful week and didn't want to leave! Julie and Jim are lovely people, they're great hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. The lodge itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean and you can tell that Julie and Jim take pride in it, everything is thought of and it feels very comfortable and homely. The decking in the sunshine is lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed a glass of wine and a book or a board game in the evening. Wifi is included which was great and an ensuite plus another bathroom with a bath was luxury! It's the perfect location to explore the Lakes or the Yorkshire Dales, we even drove up to Carlisle and then Scotland very easily for a day. The bar and restaurant on site is nice, although it's best to book if you'd like to eat. We didn’t get the time unfortunately to use the pool, but it looked good. Thank you both so much for a lovely week, we had a great time and would love to return again.

Excellent!!!
Julie and Jim arranged to meet us on arrival and gave us a tour of the property and explained how things worked . The welcome was warm and Julie and Jim were most accommodating with our questions . The lodge itself was clean and tidy and I could not fault it at all . The wifi was good, we had the tv and all the appliances worked well. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean . On-site facilities were good, bar and restaurant were excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend this property and will stay again in the future .

The Lodge was more that we expected and it was well equipped, the weather wasn't great but we were so happy to chill in the lodge. The location is ideal as it was so quiet and peaceful, we will be back. Jim & Julie were amazing and made us feel so welcome, 5 star⭐ host's.

Fabulous 2 bedroom accommodation in the Lake District.
Had a fabulous week in the South Lake Accommodation. Spotlessly clean & comfortable bed & seating in lounge. Good water pressure in showers. 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite. Parking for 2 cars. Hosts were perfect, really helpful & easy to communicate with. Thoroughly recommend staying here if you're visiting the Lake District.

Fantastic lodge, great location.
We were greeted with a warm welcome by Julie and Jim who showed us around their lovely lodge. The lodge is perfect for a family of 4 with everything you could possibly need. It was clean and spacious and clearly cared for by Julie and Jim. It's in a great location and the park has leisure facilities and a pub. We loved it so much we have already planned our return visit. Thank you to Julie and Jim for making us feel so welcome.

Overall just 'OK'
The booking and arrival process was straightforward. We were met by the owners who were very pleasant and accommodating. They showed us the lodge, provided all the required information and left us the key. The lodge itself is suitable for 2 small adults and 2 children. The bedrooms are very much on the small side. You cannot even fully open the door to the small ensuite shower room, because of the bed! The bed was too short for me (I'm 6' tall). One of our teenagers had to sleep in the living room, as the twin room is not big enough for 2 teenagers. The only views you get from this lodge is of other lodges! There is 24 hours traffic noise from the nearby M6. There are leisure facilities on site (pool and gym), but they are not included and are not cheap for what they offer (£10 per person per day). There are lots of places to explore around the area. We will not be returning to this accommodation.

It was disappointing to read your review and sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. It was also disappointing to us that you left the lodge earlier than the agreed arrangement and just sent us a text message saying the keys are in the lodge and you were gone. Perhaps you did not want to discuss your complaints directly with ourselves. Your complaints about the lodge being too small conflict with what hundreds of previous guests have said about our lodge and their stay. We have had many sets of guests consisting of 4 well built adults enjoying their stay. Your son and daughter were nowhere near the size of guests who have happily stayed in the full sized single beds. As you say the cost of the leisure facilities is £10 per person per day for 1 adult, however the cost for 2 adults and 2 children is £20 for the day, these charges are what the site set down and not set by us. Regarding the view from the lodge, lakeside views are available in other lodges at twice the price. Again the motorway noise is there if you listen for it, again not an issue for previous guests. We hope you find more suitable accommodation in the future.

A short break for the golden girls.
The property in general was ideal for our trip convenient for the lakes and Morcambe bay. Catch the sunset it was beautiful. The only fault for me was the en-suite door should be a slider as it will not open fully and as I’m a larger lady I did find it difficult. The whole property was exceptionally clean . We were a little worried as we had been shielders.. The site needs more exit markers I think it took 20 min to find our way out the first time. We went back and made our own map just left and right. I would certainly stay again.

You mentioned the en suite bathroom door when we had a chat as you were leaving although this has never been mentioned before we will consider what you suggest we will probably get the view of other guests. As also discussed our other lodge that we rent out would probably suit you better because it does have more room in the double bedroom. If you decide to come again then use our other lodge.

Relaxing and comfortable
After 5 months of being in isolation, working from home, and staring at the same 4 walls, I was so excited at the thought of a few nights away. Jim and Julie made us feel extremely welcome to their lovely lodge. They are obviously very proud of this property... and so they should be! Lots of care and consideration has been taken by the owners to make things as safe as possible during the current climate of Covid 19, however the accommodation is still well equipped and you'll find everything you need in the kitchen, and the beds are super comfortable. Great, quiet location, a perfect base to lots of places. Looking forward to visiting here again, hopefully soon ;)

EXCELLENT LODGE, EXCELLENT HOSTS
Julie and Jim were super hosts. They tried to accommodate every request. The lodge is well cared for and was cleaned very well. I am very fussy. They outlined their cleaning regime as I was concerned about taking my elderly mother with us. My 9 year old had a great time. Communication was quick and comprehensive. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay. We will definately be booking again. A big thank you to them both!!!

8 Sherwood Lodge
The lodge was immaculate. It was cosy and had all the facilities necessary to make our holiday perfect. Jim and Julia were very welcoming showing us round the lodge. Having WiFi available was great and the parking was good too. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and family and we hope to return in the future. The lodge was in a good location for visiting picturesque areas.

Weekend Break
We had a lovely 2 night stay. This was our first time staying in a lodge and I have to say we were very impressed. Julie and Jim our hosts were very welcoming, showed us everything that we needed to now about the workings of the cooker etc and many tips about places to visit and eat. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely like to return.

We enjoyed our week at Borwick. The beds were very comfortable and the chalet was nice & roomy. The weather was boiling hot or tropical rain typical Lakes weather! All in all it was the quiet lazy holiday we all needed.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful site and lovely food in the restaurant. The lodge is exceptional with all home comforts. Lovely decking with funiture to sit out on a sunny day. Very comfortable and in a beautiful location. Carol welcomed us to the lodge as the owners where away and she was lovely and always around if we needed her. Equally the owners even though away kept in contact prior to our arrival and where contactable if required. Will definitely book again. It is a credit to you James

Comfort and sunshine
The property , was extremely well appointed , as the weather was hot , but our hosts even lent us their fan , and provided light weight duvets . They were very attentive to detail . The beds were sooo comfy . The site is still being added to , lets hope it doesn’t get too big ! The food in the restaurant was delicious , with the young staff being so very attentive and polite , and cheerful . All in all a lovely stay for all of us , Thank you Jim and Julie

The lodge is beautifully finished and everything has genuinely been thought of from the quality of the bed sheets to a small bottle of washing liquid provided under the sink. The site is quiet and the facilities including the bar, gym and pool are wonderful and the lake is simply beautiful. Excellent location for accessing the Lake District. Wish we’d had longer there and look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic lodge and lovely park
The lodge was spotlessly clean with high quality fittings and equipment. Julia and Jim gave us a wonderful welcome and lots of great information about the local area. The leisure facilities on the park are excellent and offer reduced rates for the duration of your stay. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming especially in the gym with fitness classes available for a minimal amount. Overall we had a fantastic time here and would book this lodge again in a heartbeat.
