COVID-19 may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our lust for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to handle travel's new challenges:

• Know the restrictions and rules in both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check before you book your flight.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to temporarily lower your mask for identification purposes.
• To decrease the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on luggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Place any personal items (e.g, wallet, keys and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
