I messaged the hotel 8.59pm that I was just about to arrive as my bus was delayed. Check in dead line was 9pm. There was nobody when I arrived, telefon number on the app didn’t work, could hear it ringing and nobody to answer. Found another number and the person showed up after 15-20 minutes. He said my room wasn’t paid and wanted cash. Wouldn’t give me the WiFi password to arrange payment, said I had to pay cash first to get the Wi-Fi. The most unfriendly experience I’ve had checking in. The room was surprisingly clean and comfortable though. I’d rather pay a little more and get much better service.

The rooms were furnished with furniture that looked like it was obtained from the Salvation Army. We were requested to pay the full amount in cash upfront prior to getting the rooms!!!!!!!

Stay away from this place!

This place was bad. And I mean, really bad. The owner/was extremely unfriendly and rude. And demanded cash upon my arrival. This is never happened to me before. But that’s OK, I dealt with it but he continued to be extremely rude and mean and very unfriendly. The rooms were extremely bare had no amenities at all. No soap, no kettle, no coffee, no tea. Stairs up to the rooms was extremely steep. Then I had to take an additional spiral staircase up to my room that was extremely rickety and unsafe. Also, the rooms are not in the location that Google maps brings you to. Please be aware of that. The rooms are located in an Old Town, that is actually is a great location. If it wasn’t for that, I definitely would’ve just left.

The way the room was on the site was not what we got. No kitchen although I booked with kitchen on the site. To be honest, I have been in Ghania before and was also inside the old town in a better room for the same price. Is a few years ago, so I didn’t have the number anymore. Maintenance in this building was poor. So I won’t reccomand this hotel to people who ask me about it. There are better places to stay in Ghania. One night was enough

We had a bad experience when we arrived. Our flight got delayed for more than 4 hours and we were trying to get the phone number of the hostel to inform but we didn't receive it in our booking. So we arrived almost 12am to the hostel and the guy at the reception received us in a very bad attitude, blaming us because we didn't call without asking us reasons, he said it is in our booking with Expedia but we were trying to tell him we booked through Hotels.com . We would still pay for the room even if we didn't arrive, but he treated us so badly that I had to tell him to calm down.

Normally, I don’t pay much attention to negative reviews, but in this case I can confirm they were absolutely correct. My stay at this property was a major disappointment and I felt misled. Upon arrival, I was forced by the owner to pay in cash, even though my booking was made through the system with a credit card. When I objected, the owner reacted aggressively. In addition, the accommodation did not match the description on the website at all: No parking available No kitchen or kitchenette, although advertised No private beach, despite being listed Very noisy rooms – the floors creaked so badly you could hear every movement No daily cleaning No reception or staff available for most of the day, only when the owner happened to be present Ants in the bed and throughout the room The most concerning aspect was the owner’s hostile attitude when I refused to pay in cash. This made my stay not only uncomfortable but also unsafe. Overall, this was an extremely negative experience. I would like to file an official complaint and request that this case be investigated. It is unacceptable that a property can advertise facilities and services that are simply not provided.

Would not recommend, here is why!

Plats: läget är det enda jag kan säga var bra, centralt i gamla stan i chania. Lokal: lever inte upp till vad ägaren säger, dålig ljudisolering mellan rummen, AC så dålig att den knappt fungerar som fläkt 90% av tiden. Alltså varmare i rummet än ute och vi hade 33-35 plus grader ute under vistelsen. Skulle städas i rummet varje dag, under vår vistelse städades det inte någon dag utan vi fick själva använda handdukar. Obekväma sängar och inga möjligheter att mörklägga rummet när man skall sova. Personal: Personal går in i rummet utan legitim anledning och hävdar att han skulle lämna handdukar men hade inga med sig, personal går in i rummet på dagarna ovh stänger av AC på rummen. Personal är otrevlig, nedlåtande och utan service förmåga. Personal undviker aktivt kontaktsökande ifrån boende vilket gjorde att vi inte fick nytt toalettpapper vilket gjorde att vi fick använda handdukar istället. Personal ljuger och lägger på telefonen i örat på hotels.coms kundservice när vi är i kontakt med dem. Man vill inte vara på rummet men man vill inte lämna sina grejer heller för man litar inte på personalen...

Fantastisk beliggenhet, elendig service

Hotellet (eller room for rent) ligger nærmest midt på torget i den venetianske havnen. Midt i gamlebyen. Men dette hjelper lite når hotellverten er sur og lite imøtekommende. Man føler at man er mer til bry enn som betalende gjest. Hotellet virker skittent, men laknene var rene. Vi velger et annet overnattingssted neste gang…

Ultimo di 10 giorni a Creta: il pernottamento peggiore (a parità di livello di prezzo). Centralissimo. Fine. Camere sotto ogni standard, di pulizia e di sicurezza. The little cozy hotel is clean and tidy and has lots of potential to develop. The gentleman who takes care of it is of great help: we arrived at any time we liked , he kept out staff on the last day and was very agreeable at all telephone communication. We felt at ease.

Horrible place

To stay at Kidonia property was a nightmare. Very rude unwelcome owner and totally luck of care for the guest. In that property there is no formality check in with documents, I could be anybody. I was really surprised when I sow the reception and then the room, this property should be banned from hotel.com and others web site and closed from the authority. Seriously danger, unhygienic, dirty, smelly place. No toiletry and when I asked for it he just gave me a used soap. We had to make the bed ourself, the onwer took from the wardrobe 2 blanket with disgusting smell. When I asked a broom to clean myself the room he gave me a dirty one full of builder dust and hairs. When I asked the hair drier he refused to gave me, saying it was to late and I was going to make noise for other guest. The toilette was dirty smelly, the shower curtain was full of mould everywhere and we could use it, so water all on the floor. During the day we went back to the room to leave some shopping but we found builders on the stairs with the onwer, for them was normal paying guest, who at some point the builders told as “its only dust...” Hotel.com should seriously consider to remove Kidonia room from the website as I always thought the high standard I found in hotel.com.

Μείναμε για 4 βράδυα και τα δύο τελευταία βράδια δεν υπήρχε ζεστό νερό για μπάνιο. Οι κουβέρτες που υπήρχαν στο δωμάτιο ήταν ακάθαρτες και μύριζαν κατουρήματα. Το δωμάτιο μύριζε κατά διαστήματα αποχετεύσεις καθόλη την διάρκεια της ήμερας. Η συνολική εξυπηρέτηση ήταν απαράδεκτη.

Hotell med många trappor men prisvärt

Hotellet låg precis i turistområden och endast få tal meter från hamnen. Sängarna var mycket hårda men lakanen och handdukar var rena. Rummet var stor med köksutrustning , vi kan inte säga så mycket, eftersom vi använde inte köket. Badrummet hade en mycket högtröskel som kunde vara farligt om du inte såg den i mörker eller vid toabesök halvsömnig. Priset är efter standaren men att hålla ren resten av ytorna kan inte bero på priset .Nu när vi har sätt olika hotell i samma prisklass så måste vi säga att Kydonia kunde sopa och vaska lite mera. Hotellrummet låg flera trappor upp och den hade en balkong som vette mot huvudgatan. Det gocl att sova trots närheten till folkvimlet.

A very dated and tired set of rooms. Typical back packer domain - cheap and cheerful when all you want is for somewhere to sleep when not out and about enjoying the sights of the splendid Old town. Some basic cooking facilities were provided and there was a compact shower room and toilet. All in all not a bad stay, if like us, clean sheets, a comfortable bed and no uninvited guests are what matter most.
