A wonderful hotel to stay in, best position in Chania, rooms are spotless and beautiful. Staff are lovely and very helpful. I don’t want to stay anywhere else.
Thank you Eva for such a wonderful stay. The rooms were beautiful and service was outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better location - everything was within walking distance: the beach, the city, the charming old town and the harbour. Venturing further out to Ayia Marina beach by bus was also easy and hassle-free.
Your communication was excellent, especially around our late arrival and airport transfer - it made everything so smooth and stress-free.
It was the perfect end-of-exam getaway for my daughter - a safe, easy and memorable trip that we'll treasure.
We'll definitely be back again soon!
Best wishes, Lesley and the girls xx

The apartment was incredibly clean and the bedding was fantastic. Excellent beds and linens. Very centrally located.
Wonderful service, clean and modern room, helpful information from the front desk. Great location just outside of the city centre, meaning that it was a bit less busy and it's right near shops and restaurants with more local prices. Ten minute walk from bus station.
This is a lovely property in central Chania. Only a short stroll to the old town and port through the bustling tourist shops and dining. Supermarket and bus station a stones throw away. The room was beautifully furnished and super clean - great bed and linen! Staff were extremely accomodating and friendly. Highly recommended.
Eva welcomed us whole-heartedly and was a complete start throughout the stay. Excellent advice and a genuine warm personality. The location was very close to the restaurant at the harbour and great for kiosks, taxis etc. The room was super clean, best blackout curtains ever and beds were firm and comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend the rooms and service here, an absolute joy.
Lady behind the desk told us where everything was and where the nice places of Chania town were. This hotel is bang on in the centre a few minutes away from the harbour and a stone throw away from all of the shops. 100% if you’re travelling to Chania town.
Only stayed 1 night but very impressed with level of service.
Eva provided a warm welcome and gave valuable info re taxi to airport and the city
Even before we arrived Eva helped by email with a request.
Beautiful restored building inside. Spotless modern bedroom with excellent bathroom/shower.
Taxi rank outside the door for airport access.
We will be back.
Just in the heart of Chania, in the middle between the old town and the modern city. Easy and safe to walk around. Many options for food and shopping at big stores also locals ones. Ivana gives it a plus, she is lovely and very friendly, gonna miss her big smile every morning. I’d a great time there. I’ve already plans to come back soon. See you next time ευχαριστώ
The Hotel is perfectly located in Chania, it is right outside the taxi stop and a 2 minute walk to the bus station so you can get anywhere you would like. The rooms and beautiful and clean. Eva the receptionist was amazing and helpful, she can organise the tours for you to get to the popular Elafonisi beach, Balos beach and the Samaria Gorge hike. Take her advice about the hike it's a long day!
The location of the city rooms was excellent. You are right in the city centre. There are taxis just outside the Plaza 1866 superior city rooms to go anywhere and the KTEL bus station is just 2-3 minutes on foot from the accommodation. The receptionist is very friendly and provides us very helpful information regarding the restaurants, shops etc. Everything was near the city rooms! There was a very nice fragrance as you enter The Plaza 1866 superior city rooms and the room was modern, spacious with nice amenities! I highly recommend this city rooms for your accommodation in Chania!
The apartment was clean. It was extremely small and the ad was misleading as there was no balcony, essentially no parking (you have to try and find parking about 10 mins away), and there were 2 very long steep flights of stairs. There was never anyone at reception during normal hours you would expect people to be around (8-8:30am or 430pm) The checkout instructions were very vague and it was unclear to leave cash on the reception table to cover the tax.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
The hotel has a very central location, within easy walking distance to most of Chania’s attractions. The building itself is historic, which has charm, but it’s important to note that there is no elevator and the staircase is steep (two flights up). The highlight of our stay was the cleaning service—our room was spotless and refreshed daily, which we truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. The reception/host experience was the worst I’ve ever had in my travels. Due to a miscommunication through Expedia (some hotel replies never appeared in my Expedia inbox, which I can prove), the car transfer we had requested did not happen. Despite me messaging the hotel the day before and the day of arrival, I never received the necessary info. We ended up taking a taxi instead.
Upon arrival, the reception person (I believe her name was Eva, based on other reviews) stormed out of the hotel and began arguing with us on the street, demanding payment for the transfer we never received. She then continued to argue with us up two flights of stairs while delaying our check-in, despite me showing her the missing messages in my Expedia inbox. She repeatedly insisted it wasn’t her fault, that she wouldn’t “lose money,” and demanded we pay anyway. After a long flight, this aggressive and hostile treatment was beyond unacceptable—I was driven to tears. My husband eventually gave her money just so we could check into our room.
Absolutely beautiful building. Super comfortable bed/bedding & very clean room. No elevator in the building in order to preserve the heritage of the building so many stairs to climb with your luggage
