This welcoming three-bedroom, 3-bath English Basement apartment offers visitors convenient access to all that Charleston has to offer. Housed in a historic Charleston single home built in the late 1800s, the apartment is steps from the city’s best shops and restaurants and is easily walkable to MUSC and the College of Charleston.

The apartment recently underwent a full renovation, completed in spring 2017. Measuring just under 1,000 square feet, the apartment offers three bedrooms each featuring premium bedding and its own full bathroom with shower. Thoughtful care has been put into crafting a clean and efficient space that offers all of the amenities of a boutique hotel (bath products, high-end towels and linens, hair dryers, iron, wi-fi, premium TV channels, etc.) with the added convenience of a full, chef-ready kitchen, washer/dryer, and a classic secluded brick patio for enjoying the nearly year-round comfortable temperatures Charleston offers its visitors.

Complimentary parking is offered for guests in a private parking lot located across from the apartment.

This apartment is on the lower level of the three-story property. The home features two additional 3 BR/3 BA rentals on the first and second floors, which can be rented in conjunction with this apartment for larger groups. Please inquire if interested.

Absolutely no parties or late-night noise will be tolerated.

Visitors can shop for tailored menswear at Indigo & Cotton located directly next door and across from the apartment; indulge in the city’s most charming bakery – Sugar Bakeshop - located just across the street from the rental; and peruse the selection of handmade bags and leather goods at J. Stark, just down the block.

Many of the city’s most notable eateries are located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood, or an easy walk from the rental. We visit Charleston quite a bit and this was one of the better properties. Very nice restaurant on site. Short walking distance to king street. Lots of small coffee shops and breakfast places close by. Would def stay here again.

Loved having three bathrooms for our girls trip, with cold water in the fridge when we arrived on a VERY hot August day. We were greeted when we arrived and were even able to check in a few hours early, because your place was ready. Everything was very seamless and the location was perfect for walking to get coffee + bagels in the morning and grabbing a salad + sandwich for lunch.

Came for a long weekend with friends and loved our stay. The six of us were very comfortable and didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Our host was helpful, attentive and accommodating. The place is only a few blocks away from King St so we walked a lot which we enjoyed since we wanted to explore the city. The kitchen could use some more items for cooking (cutting board, tongs) but overall the place was well stocked, very clean, well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience Charleston!

Everything about the place was just as advertised. My only complaint was the check-in process. The door is very hard to open without instructions, which were not provided at check in. After that was sorted out, everything was great.

We have been coming to Charleston annually for 15 years. Sometimes with husbands but more often with girlfriends. We prefer VRBO to hotels for the benefits of common space for gathering. We loved this spot for the three of us. Cozy and in a great area for walking to so many spots around the historic district, restaurants snd shopping. Will definitely be back!

This was our first time in Charleston and we had an absolute blast. The property was beautiful. The “bungalow” (what we named it) was so adorable! The portion of the house that we stayed in was smaller, but enough room for 3 couples to sleep after a long day of exploring. The manager pleasantly greeted us once we arrived. Overall it was a great trip and we will be back!

The staff made our check in effortless by meeting us upon arrival. Elizabeth helped us with our bags and explained everything we needed to know about the place. Including that the door automatically locks when closed. That evening around 10 PM, our family enjoyed the porch area and one of us accidentally closed the door without having a key with us. We immediately called and someone came over within a few minutes to let us back inside. We really appreciate that they went over and above for us. Definitely would stay again. The Southbound restaurant is footsteps away and the best meal that we had during our visit.

The property is lovely and well appointed. We had an issue getting in so we texted Morgan as the instructions advised. Morgan came right over, got us in and was very friendly. The location was great. A quick walk to King Street for all of our shopping and dining. Also a quick walk to the College of Charleston for a college tour. The beds were comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet and property was really well maintained! We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Morgan!

We visited with two other couples for the Annual Oyster Festival. The home was very centrally located. We walked most places. the house was well furnished and VERY clean! There was nothing we needed that we did not have. One bedroom is VERY SMALL (challenging to lay out your luggage) BUT the closet accommodated us just fine! Really enjoyed our stay! Communication with the owner is A+++

Overall an excellent experience. The location could not be better. We were forewarned in advance of construction next door which was annoying due to our late night excursions and desire to sleep in. The only improvement I might suggest is to improve the sound proofing between the master bedroom and the bedroom next to it.

We enjoyed our stay at the Charlestonian. We had plenty of room with six women and the kitchen area was well stocked with necessities. Cute quiet little neighborhood. Although we could have walked to a lot of the bars and restaurants close by it was really too hot in the South Carolina heat of summer. Not to worry, Ubers were plentiful. I was a little concerned because I’ve never stayed in a “basement “apartment before, but it was quiet and the air conditioning and fans worked great. There was plenty of sunlight from the windows. It was not really what I would think a basement would be. We felt safe and at ease, which is a major concern for me when renting a VRBO.

We were disappointed when we realized this Vrbo was a basement apartment. It was advertised as garden view. It had an industrial chic look but the walls were thin and noise from apartment could be heard late at night. The bathrooms walls were rough to look at. The location was good but being in a basement was not what we had hoped for. The beds were comfortable.
