My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. "The house is magnificent, very spacious with great character and has every facilty you could possibly wish for to make a comfortable and relaxing stay.Gilles was a perfect host and made us very welcome. He was attentive but in a discrete and very comfortable manner.The house is in the centre of Saumur and it was very quick and easy to walk to the many good restaurants and shops. The markets on Saturday are close by and well worth visiting. One of the overriding memories we will all have is the view of the beautiful Saumur chateau from the garden and most of the windows. It is breathtaking and just on your doorstep.The pool is magical. A lovely temperaure and just what you need after a hot day sightseeing.We had a great week and if we ever return to Saumur we will defintely be asking Gilles if we can stay at his house again. "
"This was truly a gem within walking distance to the town centre. We adored the gardens, lobby and resting areas, and the spacious room and the pool. The interior furnishings were luxurious. The owners have great pride in the place and attention to detail shows at every corner. The only letdown was the small number of staff, that impacts the service a bit. Still it is excellent value nd recommend to stay more than a couple days to truly enjoy the place. "

Lovely room we were upgraded to which had fantastic views of the river. Unfortunately, when we went to bed we could only turn aircon down to 21C and it was a hot night. Reported it in the morning and they were going to have a look and rectify problem!"
"Location, location, location! Very old part of the city and some areas around are not in good shape! The apartment does not have internet but is otherwise well equipped. The view of the Loire out the front windows is lovely. Nice to watch the boats go by.
If elderly with lots of luggage, this apartment is not for you! Very old narrow winding staircase to the apartment on the top floor! The proprietor is lovely and very helpful!!!"

"What a place! We enjoyed an unforgettable 10 days in this beautiful place. The position is unbeatable, overlooking the Loire, with postcard views from every window. The chateau perched above made us feel like we were living in a fairytale - we could not stop taking photos!The apartment is spread over the two top floors of a historical building, with a lift for baggage. It is full of quirks and character, with a rambling layout presenting plenty of spaces for socializing or sitting in quiet solitude. This is no bland vacation rental: every room is furnished with original features and antique objects which rivalled those we saw in the local chateaux and museums. We felt privileged to be entrusted with such exquisite surrounds.Saumur itself is delightful; a perfect size and location to enjoy the best of the Loire, with plenty of excellent restaurants within a few steps, wineries and distilleries to visit, and wonderful shopping.Our host Gilles was attentive, responsive and eager to help, with a warm delight at our appreciation of his magnificent place.For anyone seeking an authentic and refined Loire experience, we thoroughly recommend this gem."
