We got what we paid for, i.e. not a lot, but rooms extremely cold, no heat and windows could not be closed. We had 2 rooms and the TV did not work in one of them. Pillows like rocks. Breakfast average. Good reception staff. Convenient location and excellent river views.

Checked in at 17:20 there superior rooms. Receptionist was very friendly can’t fault her. Once went to room 210 it was not cleaned all dirty from previous guest. Went down to reception my sister was there as her toilet in her room was faulty so the staff went to sort it out. She returned and said give 20 min room will be cleaned my husband said I gentlemen came to the other room wrong one to clean and said no it’s 210. After 25 min we went to the room to check but it was not cleaned return to reception told the staff who apologised and sent the gentleman to go and clean the correct room we did not get the room till 18:35.

We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter holiday. Plus points include nice staff (who don't get angry when you accidentally spill a whole cup of coffee in the lobby 😅); a great breakfast; the fact that it's a quiet hotel which is close to lots of local amenities at a good price; and our room had one of the most impressive pelmets that I've ever seen. Negatives were the hot water tap in the bath wouldn't turn off so your bath became increasingly more scalding; the toilet didn't flush properly; we booked the room with a four poster bed only to discover that the four poster part of the bed had been removed so it looks nothing like the pictures online; the poor quality of what they laughably call "pillows"; there are no plug sockets near the bed so you have to plug your phone in on the other side of the room; and the whole place could do with a coat of paint and some minor repairs. Ultimately, this is a solid 3 star hotel with good prices, a tasty free fry-up for brekkie, and only a five minute walk to get to either Rochester or Chatham.

The linen didn't seem to be very clean it was inside out and the pillows weren't so comfortable. The staff members were excellent and the breakfast was nice. Its quiet and cool atmosphere.

Property was very tired run down, hairdryer not working, shower was not fixed properly, grubby wanted decorating, bedside lights didn’t work, staff were good, breakfast ok , lift needed attention
