"Lovely accommodation and great hosts with ample of information. The spiral staircases can be hard to keep climbing up but are a njce touch.There is parking outside the house but limited, if full you can park on surrounding roads."

"The staff at this hotel were superb . Nothing was too much trouble . Nice hotel. Room was quite spacious and comfortable and the bed was ok ( although it was 2 beds pushed together !) . The bathroom was quite small and the shower splashed out everywhere- also needed a bit of an upgrade. Overall though the location was great, breakfast was lovely and good value for £12.50, and the staff superb . We enjoyed our stay overall."

"We had a fantastic week at Charlton Down Cottage. We wanted a nice place away with the dogs to just relax and be out of the city and it really didn’t disappoint. There was a slight issue with bugs due to the humid weather during the week which was a slight annoyance during our time there and not what you want to be dealing with during a holiday but the team were extremely helpful and tried their best to keep it under control. All in all though, the cottage is beautiful and feels like a home away from home. Would definitely recommend."

"The hotel has a very welcoming feel from the moment you arrive. Greeted by the friendly reception team, your requirements and expectations are reviewed carefully. There are no lifts in the hotel so if you are on the 2nd floor you may have to ask for assistance with your luggage. Rooms overlooking the extensive gardens are preferred, as there can be some road noise from rooms at the front of the main building. The rooms are comfortable with the usual basic amenities. Dogs are allowed in the outside cottages and are welcome in the lounge and public bar if they can hold it together! You can eat in either the hotel restaurant or the bar, but the menus are currently a bit restrictive on choice, but the food is good and well served. This hotel is popular for weddings and conferences so can be busy at times, so worth asking when you book to save time and avoid disappointment if you wanted a quiet relaxing stay. There is adequate parking and some of the cottages have dedicated parking areas. The hotel is ideally situated on the main Bath Road giving good access to Westonbirt Arboretum, Highgrove and Tetbury. It can be difficult to get a taxi, so booking in advance is essential. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere, and weather permitting there is extensive seating on the garden patio area to enjoy a drink and a meal."
