Self Catered Studio - Already Booked Again!
I was in a self catering studio a few minutes away from the main hotel. For me, that was perfect. The studio was clean, equipped, and a pleasant place to be, within walking distance of the Brewery Quarter and town centre. The bed was comfortable and I had great WiFi reception (the best of any hotel I've stayed in) which made it easy to do some work. Downsides (very minor!): 1. Need a draining board in the kitchen. 2. Need the manual for the combi grill/microwave - couldn't figure it out for garlic bread (yes, I am a luddite with kitchen appliances!) 3. Breakfast was included but need to make it clearer that it is breakfast items provided (healthy) rather than a cooked one - I was very happy with it, though, and it was perfect for me. Just a comms thing for future guests. But what I did like was the little things. For example, washing up liquid was provided, the usual hotel soaps in the bathroom, kitchen utensils, the lot. Plenty of tea & coffee, plus real milk as well as the little one serving pots. Sounds trivial but such things really can make a difference. Parking is onsite and is spacious enough that your car is safe. My job means I'm in a hotel once a week. This is the first one self catering and I really enjoyed it. I've already booked again!

Perfect
Just 1 night but it was perfect. The location was spot on, the bed was comfortable, good shower, lovely Victorian high ceilings, excellent breakfast and the most helpful, friendly owner.

The welcome I received was warm and friendly and the proprietor had saved a parking space as I have mobility problems. The bedroom was spacious and the bed like a warm marshmallow! My breakfast was cooked well and plenty of choice. Stairs were not practical for me however.

A short break
Weve just spent 4 very comfortable nights here and would highly recommend it. The staff are so helpful, the breakfasts are lovely and the hotel is in a perfect location. We will definitely be back.

Good . Great location.
No issues. Arrived early and allowed to park directly outside room. We booked the studio apartments which are a 4min walk from the check in. You can drive there and park directly outside in the grounds which is great for Cheltenham. It is about a 20 min walk into the centre of the city . Breakfast was good but bacon was well overcooked and hard. No check back.

Friendly, laid back hotel. Was a little surprised that our room wasn't serviced so came home to unmade beds and no clean cups or tea or milk and it was too late to call anyone. Breakfast was first class.

Lovely hotel, good location. Debs on Reception was great, very helpful. Room was in basement, so a bit hot, but that’s a minor quibble. Breakfast was very nice, would stay again.

Excellent service and an excellent breakfast with great serving staff. Room was very comfortable and quite large. Definitely would stay again. It is also only a five minute walk to the brewery quarter and therefore the town centre itself. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely middle of the road hotel, within walking distance of the town centre. Parking in their own car park or on the street outside for a really good price. Lovely staff and a great breakfast.

Excellent Hotel, with good hosts
I discovered this Hotel about 7 years ago and I have stayed here sveral times on business and came back as leisure also. This time it was my Wife and I. Adam & Jayne are really good hosts. Love the full English, it sets you up for the day!

Late booking overnight break. Great welcome and was able to park upon arrival, although we were very early. Charming reception and guidance was offered on how to reach town centre - and where to go (map provided). Room was lovely and spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend and will stay again.

Great hotel close to town and the park
We had a room in the annex which is about 3 minutes walk from the main hotel. This is not a problem as we only needed to go to the hotel for breakfast. The room was very big with a kitchenette area. Everything was well appointed. Check in was easy and the whole experience was very covid secure. Only downside for me was the super soft matres which is really not my thing.

From reading other reviews I fear we were just unfortunate in terms of the room allocation. We had booked last minute and did not pay a high price, but we still very disappointed by the room we had. Our basement room was small, seemed to have an issue with damp and was generally unpleasant to be in. Fortunately we did not spend much time in there. The bed was clean and very comfortable, but unfortunately the light from the corridor poured in all around the gaps in the door frame and we had to block the light under the door with cushions and clothes! The positives were the location (lovely road close to town) the pleasant public rooms and the good quality breakfast. I would stay again, if I was able to stay in a room on the ground or first floor - but would not stay in a basement room.

This is a lovely property in a good location for the town. There are a variety of rooms, I’ve stayed in several, they are all beautifully decorated with everything you need and the breakfasts are sensational. Friendly staff and competitive rates make this the only place I’ll stay when in town.
