This former school house has been renovated into a lovely light and bright Cotswold holiday apartment which sleeps two guests, in a welcoming mezzanine style bedroom, with ensuite bathroom. Laid out over two floors, there is a sociable open plan living area with ample seating and a well-equipped kitchen. The original stone mullion windows are a striking feature which flood both floors with natural light throughout the day. The Old School House is centrally located boasting both the Cotswold countryside and the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold within easy reach. This combination of features makes for a wonderful getaway and even welcomes one dog!
Accommodation This one bedroom holiday cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold is perfectly suited for a solo traveller or couple looking to explore the local countryside and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Events are not permitted without prior consent Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00 The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted

Wonderful place to stay - we had the most relaxing time - clean and comfortable and a great location for all that Stow has to offer. Tony the property manager was wonderful and generous with all the christmas goodies he left for us too. Would stay again.

A lovely stay
The Old School House is everything you could need and more! The location is great and the parking is such an added bonus. We’d recommend anyone to stay here when looking to visit The Cotswolds. Tony the property manager is fabulous. Nothing is too much trouble for him and his communication is second to none!

Alovely place to stay
The Old School House was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. Tony the owner was so helpful and the welcome treats were really appreciated. It's in a great location - quiet but just a short walk from all the delights of Stow and with parking too. We will return.

Excellent stay
The School house was easy to find and excellent off road parking. We arrived early and managed to get in ! The accommodation was ideal for our needs within easy walk to Stow main streets. The bed was really comfortable which is always a bonus ! We didn’t cook but there was all the equipment if needed. A thoughtful welcome package too Would return if we decided to visit the Cotswolds again .

Weekend in The Old School House
Our stay in The Old School House was perfect for our weekend to reset to the time zone coming from Australia. It is a cosy space with a functional kitchen and comfortable bed. The property is well located in a quiet street around the corner from the centre of town and the parking space is very handy.

What a great find!
Very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property. So close to the centre of Stow yet quiet and peaceful. Everything you need is supplied and a garden and parking literally outside the door too. Tony was extremely helpful and friendly and kindly offered flexibility with check in and check out times. Thank you for the treats - most generous. Thoroughly recommended.

Cotswold bolthole
A wonderful short stay in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold.
The location was ideal to explore the town and surrounding villages. Free parking. Generous welcome package and Tony was extremely friendly and helpful.
All made for a lovely, relaxing break. We shall return.

Great location, lovely accommodation and host's personal touches
Great location and lovely accommodation. And Tony was an exceptional host. He provided a personal touch by reaching out before our arrival to share local recommendations, which were incredibly helpful in planning our activities during the stay. And then upon our arrival, we were welcomed with a warm gesture – a thoughtful surprise that included dog treats, biscuits, and beers/wine in the fridge.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in the Cotswolds.

Wonderful relaxing break
The Old School House is a beautiful property really close to the centre of Stow. The property is decorated lovely, the kitchen is very modern and the bathroom is great. There is lots of space for two, a comfortable bed, and lovely amenities. The owner is really helpful and welcoming - thank you for the treats too! Had a wonderful, relaxing time exploring a beautiful part of the country. Will be returning!

Lovely Cotswold cottage
I would recommend staying at the Old School House in Stow, it was very comfortable and cosy, and also very well equipped. It was in an ideal location being near enough to the town centre, with everything in walking distance, but also on a very quiet street. The owner texted us before we arrived and was available by phone if there were any problems or queries which is always reassuring. A goodie bag was waiting on our arrival, with wine, biscuits, milk and doggy treats, which was a very nice touch.

Fantastic property and location for a break away
The Old School House did not disappoint. A lovely, comfortable property that is ideal for a break away and so well quipped. Not only with all those items you may forget to bring but also special touches to make you feel at home. Tony, the owner, is great and easily contactable if needed. The Old School House is well situated to the town and only a few minutes walk away from the shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Would highly recommend The Sheep on Sheep Street for a lovely Sunday roast. Bourton-On-The-Water and Moreton-In-Marsh are only a ten minute drive away in either direction and if you wanted to drive a little further Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon are not too far away. We had a fabulous, relaxing anniversary break and would 100% recommend the Old School House and would love to visit again.

Easter break 2025
My wife, son (of 1.5 years) and I had a fantastic stay. The apartment was actually much bigger than the pictures led us to believe and we felt like we had loads of room. The huge windows let in loads of light and the views were great. We ate in every night and really appreciated the clean modern facilities. The location is perfect. Even our son managed the short walk into the village without trouble. Tony was an excellent host and was even kind enough to leave us some Easter treats for our arrival. So kind and generous. Thank you Tony for a lovely stay.

Loved It!
A lovely light filled, cosy apartment with everything you need to make your stay perfect! A lovely welcome package awaited us and there were even treats for our dog! The interior was well presented, comfortable and warm. Outside the parking space was useful, as was the grass area with seating. It’s also only a short stroll to all that Stow has to offer but was very peaceful. Stow offers plenty of amenities, from shops and welcoming eateries to beautiful country walks. Tony was extremely helpful and attentive. We will definitely stay again when we return to Stow!

A long weekend in the Cotswolds.
This is the second year that we have booked a property through StayCotswold and, the same as last year, I cannot praise it highly enough. Accommodation was absolutely spotless, very well furnished and equipped. Tony (the property manager) contacted me in advance with the instruction to contact him if anything was amiss (nothing was). He knew that it was my birthday over the weekend and he left a birthday card, a cake (with candles), a box of biscuits, a bottle of wine and four bottles of beer as well as a carton of milk. This was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Stow on the Wold is a great location from which to explore the Cotswolds, already had a look for where to stay next year but to be honest would be more than happy to return to "The Old School House".

Fabulous pad for a cost stay in the Cotswolds for 2
The Old School House is an apartment forming part of the main school house. It's a conversion that has been very well done, preserving original features such as the stunning high windows where the sun streams through in the morning, and the open plan design creates a wonderful sense of space. Things I always worry about when booking a holiday cottage did not disappoint:
Bed: V comfy and good pillows
Kitchen -well equipped, sharp knives and even tuppawares (always helpful)
Entrance hall - large enough to dry your dog down, get wet coat and boots off before going into main house.
Location - incredibly quiet yet only 5 mins walk into centre of Stow
Parking - yes off road and needed in Stow.
Only thing to note is the garden is not secure - so was outside in dressing gown for that early morning dog wee, but minor inconvenience.
We will return - Stow such a central location for exploring the Cotswolds and a lovely base that felt homely. Owner incredibly helpful and genuinely wanted us to have a good time - thank you for the treats :-)

Lovely Property
We had a lovely few days staying at The Old School House. The property was within walking distance to Stow town. A good choice of pubs close by too. Tony was very attentive and left some really lovely goodies for our stay. We would recommend this holiday home.

Lovely Cottage
Lovely cottage in a brilliant location.
Cottage has everything required for a break away. Even included birthday cake and fizz which was a very thoughtful touch. Little treats and extras were a delight.
Recommendations - Sunday lunch at Sheep on Sheep Street; Blenheim Palace; Stratford.
Accommodation above on a couple of evenings was a tad noisy with late night music.
Would definitely return to the cottage and use the company again. Thank you for an amazing week.
The Old School House was in a good location, five minutes walk from the village centre. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped, no surprises on arrival (apart from the bottle of wine!). Host Tony was very attentive and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful house
