Such a nice accomodation, in a perfect location. Room was beautiful, staff were really nice and helpful. Had a meal there which was was also really nice. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, plenty of parking, breakfast was excellent, close to city centre, the only negatives for me are the rooms are small ( common in city centres) very little storage, no drawers, wardrobe was a small cupboard, can’t hang trousers, we kept our cases in the bathroom, which was quite cold , unfortunately the weather was awful whilst we were here and the river flooded the hotel , we were in the older part of the hotel which has all the rooms up a steep staircase , so the carpets were soaked at the bottom of the stairs, and smelled awful ! We still enjoyed our stay at this hotel 😊

We chose the Boathouse because of the location, which was excellent and because they allow dogs and because they advertise that they have Tesla charge points. The pub was very dog-friendly and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. The most negative aspect was that the charge points weren't working and this had clearly been the case for some weeks. I understand that the pub don't own the charge points, but they are a selling point for the pub and are still being advertised. The room was generally fine, the bed was comfortable, but we were disturbed multiple times through the night by loud mechanical noises, from the bathroom.

Staff are so welcoming and lovely. Property is a great location on the river and close proximity to centre. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. Great breakfast. Everything you need for a fantastic stay in Chester.

Modern and clean, free parking was a bonus. I didn't realise the rooms don’t have a view of the water, just the car park and the back of the bar/restaurant. Ground floor rooms were straight onto the car park and pathway, and with floor to ceiling windows there was little privacy as so we needed to keep the curtain closed, which limited natural light. It also meant people were constantly walking past, pulling suitcases, or getting in and out of their vehicles so there was a lot of noise. Really disappointed, the pictures don't make it obvious. Also the lighting in our room flickered. The radiator had a bright blue control panel that we couldn't turn off, so had to cover it (which didn't seem safe). A lot of noise from folks in other rooms using their bathrooms and dragging chairs on the floor. I really wanted to enjoy the stay; the bed was huge and room was well decorated and appointed, but it felt like a nicely decorated motel with how close you are to the car park with no view whatsoever.

I genuinely had an amazing stay at this location. Staff were so helpful and lovely. The room had everything we needed and we had a great quiet night sleep. The location was perfect, just outside of the hustle of Chester but all within a shot walking distance. The breakfast was a 10 out of 10

Me and the missus really enjoyed are stay The rooms were excellent very clean with tea , coffee , biscuits , water and shampoo basically everything you need is in the rooms The bar staff were brilliant very friendly the Guinness was lovely The breakfast choices were spot on and the food was very nice We'll definitely be going back

The generator kept us awake almost the entire night - we told the staff next morning and they said it was for the refrigeration unit and had to be kept on as long as possible for the restaurant. The following night it was turned off at midnight so we we’re able to have a better sleep. Bathroom was grungy - it was the accessible bathroom in room 2. Bed also needs replacing.

I paid to stay for 2 nights at the boat house and wished i had read the reviews befor staying . We were in the old annex room 3 . It was very tired ( scuffs over all the walls and radiator, scratches on paintwork ). Noisy ( you could hear everything outside ). The matress was awful , soft old and had a blood stain . So after 1 night we checked out , was not offered any money back for the second night either . I have photos for all of this . Its such a shame as the location is beautiful and was perfect for me as my daughter is a uni studen and living at a house 2 minuites from the location of the boathouse ( i have MS so cant walk far )and we are planning on returning to chester many times over the next 2 years but willnot be staying at the boathouse again.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback, we have tried to contact you a few times via phone to discuss the issues you raised and left a voicemail to return our call, to no avail.We were not made aware of any of these issues in your room during the first night, you asked for a ground-floor room once you had checked in, but as we were fully booked, we were unable to move you to a different room. You had discussed with one of the managers in the evening, that the room was quite noisy but had told him that the room was lovely other than this?The following morning, you decided to check out, the duty manager offered you a free upgrade to one of our signature doubles as you advised you didn't sleep too well. You declined, as you said you had already booked alternative accommodation. As per our T&C's, we require 24 hours notice for cancellation otherwise the nightly rate will be charged.We offered you alternatives, which you did not wish to accept.I am sorry you feel this way, but we did all we could for you during your stay and you did not make us aware that you were unhappy with the standard of your room, only that you would have preferred a ground-floor room and that due to noise (external to the hotel) you had a disturbed sleep

Amazing place by the Riverside
This stay was planned as a trip to Chester to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff was nice and extremely helpful. The location by the Riverside was great, allowing for a quick walk to city centre while being really peaceful. The room was great, very well decorated and very comfortable. Finally, the breakfast on the morning afternoon was really good as well.

Great place to stay, good base for Chester town centre, lovely staff. The only downside is parking is pot luck, we got last place in small car park and there’s no overflow car park.
