Hotel was gorgeous, clean, smelled amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful, we had trouble with our bathroom sink tap and it was fixed super quickly. Only complaint is that drinks were a little expensive, £5 for a coffee is a lot and the alcohol more so, but it's expected for such a lovely venue I suppose. Thanks for a great weekend!

We are repeat visitors to Wildes Derbyshire and love it. Perfectly placed to head on into the Peak District and Sheffield but far enough away to not command the crazy prices. Beautiful hotel with modern but cosy interiors thay give you a sense of luxury. Food is fab. I always come away feeling like we have treated ourselves but without having broken the bank.

Rooms are large, clean and quiet with good bathrooms. We stayed there for a tribute night and the food exceeded our expectations. Overall a very good experience

Came for a wedding. The room was a nice size, but carpet could have done with a good hoover. Shower was hot and cold. Drinks were overpriced. Breakfast was lovely, grounds were kept well and service was good.

Checking in was easy and efficient. Stayed for a family wedding. Ushers did not show wedding party to his and her sides of the ceremony room. Food was very good but sweet was changed last minute and people not liking cheesecake were not allowed to have ice cream as an alternative. Wedding room was brilliant and bedroom was spacious and well set out. The price of drinks was far too expensive and for this reason alone I would not recommend this hotel.

I had a very warm welcome from Liam when I arrived at the hotel; the reception area was very clean, smelt gorgeous because of the lovely products at the spa shop, and Liam was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating when I asked for my room to be in a quiet area of the hotel; my room was beautiful and spacious with soft towels, comfy pillows, and lovely spa toiletries. The breakfast in the morning was superb. I had a wonderful stay and I look forward to returning. It is a very well run hotel with a super team of staff.

The Spa is located on the first floor and includes two treatment rooms with a relaxation area, however there's currently no wet facilities such as jacuzzi, sauna etc. In order to gain access, you would be required to book an appointment with a therapist. Hotel was lovely and front of house staff were very friendly , the only downside was the plates at breakfast are not heated which causes the buffet breakfast to go cold quickly

We enjoyed our short stay in this very pleasant hotel. The staff were excellent. Dining was a delight. Underfloor heating controls somewhat of a mystery. However pleased to return to this venue in the future.

Bedroom was clean and tidy ,missing some comfortable chairs for when watching tv or relaxing in room. You have to sit on the bed .the music from the wedding down stairs got noisy in the room even tho we where put on the second floor.the base from the music was turned down around 10.30 pm after I had contacted reception.everything was fine after that which we was happy about as we wanted a quiet night away. No complaints about breakfast buffet style and everything you would need for breakfast.overall we enjoyed our stay. just a shame about the noise from downstairs.i suppose as we booked last minute rooms away from function rooms where already taken.we would stay again but in a room away from function rooms.

Extremely rude manager. Upon travelling from Scotland we were notified after 9pm that the suite we had booked for the night wasn’t available. The manager very arrogantly blamed Expedia saying it’s a third party service and it’s not the hotel’s fault. Why work with Expedia then ? She finally offered us an alternative room instead of a suite at £158 over the phone which then was inflated in price upon arrival once again blaming Expedia. She wouldn’t let us cancel the Expedia booking for the suite which wasn’t available nor would she honour the price she quoted us over the phone. Worse experience I have ever had in any hotel. There was a function and loud music playing till midnight. Once again rather than apologise she countered by telling us it’s an “events hotel”. Prior to this stay there was a power outage too and no electricity for multiple hours. Save yourself the trouble and find an alternative hotel with a competent manager.

Furthermore, the extractor fan in the room circulates fresh air in, and ensures the temperature of the room is regulated to a comfortable degree. We were staying 2 nights ( the second being Valentines) so the night before we said we had better book a table only to be told the restaurant was fully book with outside diners so we had to go out & find somewhere else - personally this is very poor form - ours weren't a last minute booking so they knew how many were staying in the hotel so not to allow for guests leaves me to think they dont care - we may think twice before booking again

After paying for the executive suite when we arrived we got put in the old hotel. The room was very old fashioned and basically not very executive at all . But after going to reception and complaining the manager was very helpful and gave me a cheaper room in the new hotel but no offer of compensation for what I experienced when I arrived which I was not expecting at all. Make sure when booking if you want a nice stay in the hotel you ask which bit your room is in.

Older part of the hotel 2 stars at best
Got a room in the old part of the hotel, wasn't impressed when I complained that the shower was flooding and there was still a clump of hair stuck to the shower wall and perhaps hair had clogged the drain. After reassurance it would be fixed, I came back next day to exactly the same.. same clump of hair stuck to the wall, shower still flooding .. don't get me started on the super bright flashing LED from the smoke alarm directly over the bed.
