Great location, historic hotel. Nice touch to have a log fire in the room because otherwise the hotel is unheated.
Wonderful staff, a very beautiful and historic hotel within a very short walk to the market. The breakfast is great! This is a very special hotel and would highly recommend the experience.
This night was plesant surprise for our fmaily of three. It was not only a place to stay it provided an experience we will never forget. First of all if you dont appreciate History or architecture go somewhere else this one is not for you. Others that do step in to Mayan inn to take a beautiful walk in the past. The room was elegant, the pieces of furniture exquisite 👌. The plumbing was a little bit lacking but the water was hot. I really appreciate how hard they have worked to keep the original character of the hotel. Our room had an open fire ready to go. Having a fire in the elegant room last night felt like i was magicaly transported to the 1930s. I hope others can experience this magic as well.
The room was clean. It was cold during our stay, so having a fireplace was nice. Our toilet stopped working during our last night there so we had to use the toilets in the common area. Shower was a mystery, we managed hot water just once. Breakfast was ok, nothing to remember. I would not recommend dinner there, our food was cold.
Great location, but overall we thought it isn’t worth what we paid for it.
The reception was very average nothing special, the restaurant wasn’t good, it needs a better menu, the staff at the bar( welcome drink) was excellent, the plumbing in the toilets needs improvement
Beautiful spot to stay. Great location to markets and cemetery up the road.
Fluffy pancakes for breakfast highly recommended.
Staff were lovely and attentive.
We absolutely loved our stay. The place just felt so comfortable and homey. The staff was extremely nice, accommodating and willing to help. We would highly recommend staying here and experiencing a lovely stay with a fireplace that makes it a 10/10 stay.
A unique Inn with lots of history. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms were historic and the fireplace was very welcome for cold nights.
This place is a museum. In normal situation, it is run as autograph or luxury selection. You use antique bed and in rooms with colonian furnitures. One block away from the famous church and Mayan market. The staff ain a seperate office and very professional to give you timetable and help you with guide to any place.A chef team serve you for breakfest. You pay local price for luxury selection place.
Loved our room and thought we had gotten an upgraded and later learned that ll rooms have a fireplace. Great location- steps away from the cemetery, Santo Thomas Church and of course the market. It is a colonial style (older hotel). The linens and towels were of nice quality.
This 1930s-era palace features colonial-era furniture and art that makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time or staying in a museum. Conveniently located just steps from the market and a block from the main church. Beautifully maintained including old world charm like wood stacked in a hearth box next to your fireplace, fresh water in a carafe and goblets on a tray, and beautiful courtyards. Authenticity throughout added to the richness of the experience. We felt like royalty!
You press a button in your room and someone comes and lights the open fire for you! This hotel is a piece of history in the centre of mayan culture, and it is also a luxury hotel. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Great place with lots of character! It is right in the center of things if you're going to the market or cemetery, although a bit of a walk from where most shuttles drop off I think (tuk-tuks are available, but negotiate before getting in!). The beds were very comfortable, there were plenty of outlets - though no overhead lighting - and they brought a pitcher of purified water for drinking and teeth brushing. The breakfast was also very good. The only disappointments were the expensive bar (which didn't have purified ice) and the sort of threadbare vintage furniture in the room (which could easily be fixed without losing the charm). We were only there for one night to go to the market, and I wish we could have stayed longer!
If you like staying in historical properties with period furnishings, yet with all modern amenities, this is the place for you! It's great to see how the wealthy lived in the colonial era.
Front desk employees were super helpful and spoke English. The included breakfast was delicious and served in a historical room with a view.
We received drink vouchers, but did not know they had to be used on arrival day before 7pm.
Consider calling to ask for rooms with windows facing the back of the property, which is a green space, instead of the rooms facing the streets.
