Holiday Home in Chimay near Rance Forest

Located in Chimay, this 4-bedroom holiday home can accommodate 9 people comfortably. It is perfect for a group or families with children to stay enjoying the heating, terrace, and barbecue.

The place is ideal for nature lovers to enjoy. The Rance forest, the Virelles natural reserve, and the famous Eau d'Heure dams are nearby. Sports lovers can enjoy walks and try aerial sports in Cerfontaine. The historic town of Chimay with its abbey, cheese, and beer is also nearby to explore. You can enjoy a swim in the lake at 10 km. Restaurants are available at 1 km and supermarkets can be found at 4 km.

Relax in front of the fireplace in the sitting room and watch some TV shows during the evening. There is floor heating to keep you warm. 2 high chairs and children's beds are provided to keep the kids comfortable. Light the barbecue and have fun on the terrace during the evening. Kids will love the playpen.

Check-in between 4–6 PM and check-out between 9–10 AM.

This holiday house ticks all the boxes for me. It is beautifully located in the slope of a valley. Together with a small dwelling of the owner it is surrounded by a well maintained en very spacious garden. The house itself is very refined renovation of an old barn and has a lot of charm. Besides all this beauty, the site and the house are very well equipped. There are two terraces and a bbq-corner in the garden. At the entrance, you're supposed to store your (walking) shoes, so an extra pair of indoor shoes come in handy. The ground floor is organized around a central and open staircase. The open kitchen has enough working space and overlooks the dining table. The fireplace has comfortable couches and an ottoman. The whole is tastefully furnished. Upstairs, the landing is nicely lit from above. There are two tidy bathrooms. However the design of these seems a bit outdated, everything is well maintained. The sleeping rooms are cosily arranged, but the screens could have been a bit heavier for darkening, in my personal experience. All in all, this really is an outstanding holiday home in the western region of the Ardennes. I'm very happy that I could stay here with seven other friends, we had a wonderful time. I'm very grateful to the owner with whom I had a very good and pleasant contact. I hope we can come here again!

Die Küche ist modern ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Der halbwilde Garten lädt ein zu abenteuerlichen Entdeckungen für die Kleinen und Ruheplätzen für die Großen.

Fantastische locatie. Heerlijk genoten van de rust en de schitterende zonsondergang elke avond. Mooi huis, goede bedden en alle faciliteiten zijn aanwezig. Omgeving zeer geschikt om te wandelen en van de natuur te genieten. Lac de l'Eau de l'Heurs dichtbij. Voor veel activiteiten moet je wel 30-45 minuten rijden. Echter de kleine kiezelbeekjes waar alleen locals komen zijn er ook in de buurt en zorgden voor middagen vermaak bij onze kinderen.

The house a brilliant home away from home. The owner is very kind, welcoming and helpful. The house is well designed and well equipped. The garden is gorgeous and full of wildlife. One of the best places we ever stayed in. Everything was spotless when we arrived. Comfortable beds, cosy chairs and sofas, a kitchen with everything you could possibly need, always a nice shady spot somewhere in the garden and just far away enough from everything to be able to see lots of stars at night.

Lovely house in truely romantic setting

We stayed with a group of friends in Anne's wonderful house. It is lovely furnished and equipped to the highest standards, really nothing missing. We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially having a drink or two in front of the cosy open fireplace. Highly recommended!

Heel net en praktisch huis ! Fantastisch Smeg-kookfornuis. De eigenares is een hele lieve dame. Er is een open trap en als je een gezin bent met kleine kinderen die vroeger gaan slapen/wakker worden is het misschien wel een minder interessant huis omwille van lawaaihinder .... met een afgesloten bovenverdieping ga je dit niet hebben. Wij hadden een 2e frigo wel handig gevonden; was nu minder van toepassing door het slechte weer maar als het een warme zomer is en je bent met 8 is het toch handig om de dranken fris te houden in aparte frigo.... De andere frigo kan je dan houden voor de etenswaren, is ergens wel een luxeprobleem maar toch een handige tip :). Er is vloerverwarming en een cassette open-haard en dat is heel leuk en aangenaam. Kortom een fantastisch huis met mooie tuin en terras !
