The Restored Cottage is full of beautiful period features which have been perfectly blended with modern day conveniences. The cosy, traditional living room boasts a wood burning stove, just perfect for relaxing evenings indoors. During the warm summer months the sociable, light and airy open plan kitchen/dining area really comes into its own. Bi-fold doors open out onto the spacious, enclosed lawned garden, which catches the sun well into the evening.
Nearby there’s many places to visit within easy driving distance. Chorley itself is around a 15 minute drive and is a popular market town steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Attractions include Astley Hall, Museum, Art Gallery and Park. Hoghton Tower offers a fascinating history and Heskin Hall Shopping Village has a wide range of unique retail shops all under one roof. For those who enjoy the great outdoors there’s ample hiking and cycling including to the top of Rivington Pike, which although around a 30 minute drive is one of the best viewpoints in North West England. The classic Victorian seaside town of Southport is also just 30 minutes, and offers some of the finest golf courses in Britain, excellent shopping and a beautiful promenade.
Blackpool, who’s many attractions include Blackpool Tower, Zoo, Pleasure Beach and Sealife Centre is around a 40 minute drive. The popular cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Lancaster are all under an hours drive, and just over an hour away is the city of Chester and both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Families will enjoy Martin Mere Wetland Centre and Haigh Hall Country Park. This really is a property and location that’s worth discovering whatever the time of year. Beach 18 miles.
