"We love this place and hope to return! The kind proprietor met us at the train station and helped us with our luggage. The room is about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station; the train ride to and from Rome takes about an hour. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with interesting contemporary art throughout. "We enjoyed Civitavecchia even more than Rome and felt even safer there day and night. Lots of shopping around and plenty of eating options. The reception was great and they were very helpful. Staff ordered a 'taxi' for us to go to the port for our cruise and it was late, but the owner stayed outside with us and kept phoning the taxi service and assured us that we were okay and it only cost 10 Euros each to go right to the ship's place at the port so that was awesome. The breakfast is limited but you can eat as much as you like. The security is also very good and the location was awesome! There are so many 'shops' around - it is all very interesting. Purchased some clothing as well - very cute options and people were very friendly - marvelous gelato!!"

"Only stayed one night because we were leaving on a cruise the next day. No elevator and up 2 flights of stairs with luggage to “reception” which was just a guy at a desk. It appears to be an apartment building where they just converted one floor into some hotel rooms. There’s not even a sign to tell you you’re at the right place or where the entrance is. We had to walk around the building twice and take a chance on how to get in. It was convenient to get to the cruise port and it was good enough for that purpose. But I wouldn’t stay there for any other reason."

"The room was basic but clean. Front desk staff at night and in the morning were both friendly and helpful with transportation options from the hotel to the ship. This is specific to ship passengers: Option 1: The hotel can arrange transportation to the ship for 15 Euros per person. Option 2: There is a shuttle service about 100 metres toward the train station of 6 Euros each that goes directly to the ship (we intended to do this but walked). Option 3: walk 15 minutes to the port and take a free port shuttle to the ship (we, as older adults, chose this and it was an easy ). Option 4: take a taxi for anywhere from Euros $50 to $125 (not sure who would choose this for a 7-minute ride). The included breakfast had a variety of offering including meat, cheese, bread, pastry, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee/tea."
