"The hotel was clean, it smells fresh and welcoming as you walk in. The staff were welcoming and nothing was too much for them. The breakfast was great, plenty of options for everyone. The pool felt small but we did go Easter weekend so expected it to be busy. We had run out of tea/coffee/milk in the room and asked reception, it was a matter of 2-4 minutes before we got it, we were not expecting such a quick service. They also had activity packs for children and easter egg hunt which was a lovely touch."

"Stay at hotel great. Brilliant with dogs! Reception and staff generally extremely helpful. Sadly cannot say same for Hotels.com. Booked room with note I had two dogs. Contacted some time later bye Hotels.com to say I couldn't have dogs in that room and they apparently couldn't get Stratton House to agree to move me to a dog friendly room. ie I had to lose my deposit. Called Stratton House directly myself and they moved me with no issue at all and didn't charge me to move rooms. Would visit Stratton House again but never use Hotels. com again!"

"Unique in that the hotel is in a former prison and you see this all around the hotel. Superb hotel, never stayed in a Malmaison before and definitely will again. Staff go above & beyond just excellent & cannot fault it."
