Head to the centre of Dublin for a hint of the town’s historic past at the picturesque Clontarf Castle. Built in the 1830s, this stoic Georgian country house stands on the site of a much older building. In fact, the history of the area dates all the way back to the 11th Century, when the original medieval Clontarf Castle stood here.

After a stint as a popular cabaret venue, the modern-day Clontarf Castle is now a luxury four-star hotel, making this the perfect place for a pampering in the heart of Dublin. Clontarf Castle has been extended to suit its current needs, but retains its historic splendour. Close to the relaxing Fairview Park, St. Anne’s Park and Dublin’s golf courses, why not enjoy a deluxe city break in Dublin?

You’ll find there is something remarkably calming about Clontarf Castle’s Knight’s Bar with its stained glass windows and giant open fireplaces. Add views over the River Tolka estuary and it’s easy to see why Clontarf Castle is so popular. The venue also hosts weddings, antiques fairs and conferences. In 2014, it won an award for Best Hotel Event Venue.

Located close to Dublin Port, Clontarf Castle is just off the M50 and offers unsurpassed views over Dublin Bay. Whether you’re here to luxuriate in one of the hotel’s 111 bedrooms, for a night of fine dining, or are attending a wedding or conference, you’re certain not to forget your trip to Clontarf Castle in a hurry.
