"Pros: Very cozy dome, good AC, private bathrooms, good furnishings, very cute property, free local cenote was a highlight, quietCons: Wifi works sporadically and isn't strong when it connects (we couldn't rely on it even for WhatsApp, which made coordinating reservations a challenge), the property looks nice but the fountains empty into long troughs of standing water so the mosquitoes were TERRIBLE (far worse than even walking in the jungle that surrounds the area, and so bad that nobody ever...

"The resort was gorgeous, staff was friendly and room was very clean. HOWEVER, I have NEVER felt so insecure from the many times I have visited the Riviera Maya. In our first day we headed to the resort beach and we were approached by an individual to offer us drugs. This individual was intimidating and was in the beach resort by one pf the hotel bars all day accompanied by someone else doing the same thing. I felt as if they were watching us all the time and there was not 1 day they wouldn’t offer my husband or I something. I didn’t feel safe to go on walks by the beach in the morning as they were always just watching and the resort is massive. It hurts me to see what Mexico is turning out to be im security."

"First time at Coba… loved the place. One thing we were not aware of is that there are lots of mosquitoes and they were vicious. We purchased a can of “Off” for the outrageous price of $20.00. Just come prepared and you will be ok. Also, something we learned is that if you stay at AKUMAL or Si”an Ka’an you can use the amenities at all 5 resorts. We paid extra for access… still lots of fun. A must us the Origen show. Overall, great experience."

"This is one of the best resorts in the world. The service is impeccable and not forced, the staff is genuinely the most friendly helpful people you will meet. The rooms are almost all identical and all have ocean views. The beach is peaceful and amazing, with turtles swimming in it nearby. I can't say enough great things about this resort. That's why I guess there is a cult following with people coming back year after year, and me being one of them!!"

"This is a very special place. It's a little off the beaten path, which made for a very relaxing vacation. The whole area felt entirely safe. A car would be nice, but not necessary (we didn't have one). Tony, the hotel manager, is amazing! Whatever you want to do, wherever you want to go, he can help you make safe and affordable arrangements. We ate most of our dinners at the on-site beach bar/restaurant. Roberto was a great server and made top-notch cocktails -- I enjoyed everything I had there, especially the ceviche. We booked an ocean-front one-bedroom suite -- which was massive. The quiet, mini-split air conditioning unit was located in the bedroom but sufficient to cool the entire space -- even in upper-90s heat during August. Summer is high seaweed season, and I was worried about that, but it actually wasn't a big deal. Most days it was minimal -- this bay seems to be less prone to it than other areas. One day it was substantial, but once we walked through it, the water was still wonderful for swimming. It has a light sulfur smell when you are right next to it, but it dissipates quickly and you can't smell it after it dries or when you are relaxing on their wonderful white sand beach. Definitely go during turtle season. We saw hundreds of baby turtles making their way to the water every night and watched the mothers climb up to the beach to lay their eggs. It was just magical. Thanks for a great trip -- we hope to return soon!"

"The property is beautiful! Unfortunately due to the time of year we visited the activities did not have a lot of people participating. That being said we never had to search for a spot at the pool or in the buffets. Still had an amazing time."

"The hotel was really great . It is pretty small ( six rooms only I believe ) . The breakfast was excellent, and dinner very interesting menu, unique and delicious.( vegetarian). We loved selecting and using products from their collection during our stay, and we ended up buying a lot of it to take home with us, since it’s truly special. The staff was extremely gracious and gave us great recommendations. The street in the town that takes you to the property was a bit surprising , but once you are in the property all is as expected and beautiful."
