Country Retreat

This was a great place to stay. The people were really friendly and helpful. The room was really spacious and well appointed. The little village was a real escape. We were well looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Colyton.

Excellent accomodation.

Quite an historic building with plenty of character. Flag stone floors on the ground floor and uneven floors on the upper floors gave a real experience of an older building. Excellent accommodation thoroughly recommendable.

Quiet romantic secluded

The White cottage in Colyton is perfectly situated for trips to Lyme Regis and Exeter. Very friendly and excellent service. Good English breakfast. Definitely a place we Will return to.

Lovely Stay.

We stopped at the White Cottage on Colyton for one night of a short trip to Devon/Dorset. Set in a lovely village not far from Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast. Clean comfortable room, beautiful old house, very quiet, run by a very pleasant and helpful couple. Great pub up the road, The Kingfisher with good menu and great ales.Excellent breakfast. We would recommend this B & B and would stay again.

Great B&B

We stayed here 1 night, arrived at 7pm and the host was very friendly, he offered to book us a table for dinner in the pub about 1min walk from the B&B, which was very nice and filling. The room where we stayed was great, clean and comfortable, massive bed compared to our previous B&B experiences, the bathroom was big too-it had a separate shower and a bath too!! Breakfast was cooked to order and it was delicious, with mixed bread toasts. Fruit salad was freshly prepared in bowls, choice of cereals, selection of yogurts. Will definitely come back if we are in the area. B&B has separate cottages for self-catering holidays too, great if you plan to come for longer stays with family.

Friendly hosts, great place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at the White Cottage. We were made very welcome and shown around on our arrival. The room was nice, with two chairs as well as a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided, including a flask of fresh milk and decaff coffee and tea which was appreciated. The shower was powerful and warm and plenty of towels were provided. There was a nice guest lounge downstairs and a bar, plus a lovely garden to sit in. The breakfast was excellent too - freshly cooked and nice and warm. We very much enjoyed our stay at the White Cottage, thank you.

A beautiful period house in a lovely, large garden setting. Nice hosts have taken great care in the detail of what is provided in the guest rooms. The lounge and guest bar are also exceptional for the size of property. All in all a very enjoyable visit.

Brilliant stay at a wonderful cottage. The breakfasts were very good and the cottage was in a prime location to easily get around Devon. All good, nice hosts, great room and will definitely stay there again.

Welcoming and Comfortable

Donna and Steve were welcoming and friendly. Their home was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with fresh local produce. Colyton is a lovely small village with good pubs in walking distance.

Perfect hosts and lovely stay.

From the moment we arrived at the White Cottage we were made to feel warmly welcomed by Donna and Steve who turned out to be excellent hosts. We were shown around the property by Steve and then taken to our room. Our room was clean and comfortable with a large en suite including separate bath and shower. The room had tea and coffee, fresh bottled water and biscuits, plentiful towels and bathroom products. Breakfast was an ample choice of cereals, with fresh fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice followed by a generous, well cooked, course using quality ingredients. Donna and Steve go out of ther way to ensure the satisfaction of their guests in a friendly and professional manner and take pride in doing so. We will definitely be visiting again in the future and look forward to doing so!!
