Good location but needs updating

The cottage is in a great spot in the middle of Coniston and is a great base for exploring the area. We did have a little trouble finding the entrance as from the information provided it wasn’t totally clear that you need to enter as if you’re going into the shop. We also weren’t told until after booking that the parking space isn’t directly outside. This wasn’t an issue as we were able to unload the car outside and then move to the spot which is only a minute’s walk away, but I think this should be made clear in the listing. Inside the decor and finishes could use a good update and tidy to bring it up to the standard of the price paid, but overall it is warm, clean and comfortable. What wasn’t clear in the listing is the location of the hot tub. There was nothing in the handbook in the cottage either to tell us where this was. After some walking around and looking back at the photos on the listing we found it over the road, in a garden area in the middle of a busy junction. It is fenced in and surrounded by trees but you do need to walk outside and across the main road to get to it, something which definitely should be made clear in the listing as we probably would have booked elsewhere had we known this. Overall we had an okay stay here and slept very well after days spent walking but found it expensive for the standard of accommodation and we wouldn’t chose to stay here again.
