Country Houses in County Offaly

My room, as usual was excellent. Being a regular visitor of several times a year, I’ve always found my ‘home from home’ at Doolys hotel. The staff couldn’t be nicer, friendlier or more attentive. They take excellent care of me each time I’m there. From arrival, receptionist is Niamh, Ciara or Marisa, to the bar, restaurant and night porter Gerry. Honestly, every single one of them treat me like I’ve known them all my life. I couldn’t rate them any better. See you all in 6 wks. Marguerite

Very clean Olga was very helpful

It was lovely, great food, fabulous breakfast, very comfortable bed, bunk beds a treat for children delighted with them but they said to paint them child like, lovely lounges, garden fantastic, good +great staff, lovely pool all was great, would reccommend it.

A stay at Lough Bawn house is always good for the soul. It’s a beautifully tranquil place to visit and to relax. Beautiful period house with matching decor and ambiance. Warm and comfortable to stay and read a book while looking out over the lake. Highly recommended.

Loved the bedrooms and spa - so new, clean, contemporary and comfortable. The spa is especially good and the therapists were top notch! Bedroom was fab and super comfy too! in terms of dining, the staff were super friendly, the food in the golf clubhouse was nice (would recommend some more armchairs / couches vs tables/chairs) but would be nice to have an option to eat in the bar in the castle - also I’d recommend some sort of live music (acoustic or someone on a piano) on weekend nights to...

7 of us stayed. Hotel was really busy so restaurant was booked up but the barman kept a table for us. Bar food was lovely, fresh and reasonable. Couches in the foyer are so comfy we curled up in them for the evening. Music in the bar by a guy playing guitar wasn't too loud so it was great. Would definitely stay again.

What an amazing discovery! We loved our stay. Staff were amazing. We had our dogs with us, they were made so welcome. Great breakfast. Looking forward to a longer stay next time!

I just love this Hotel.I love its location opposite the beautiful bay.Seriously a great place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of surbubian life.Perfect for those evening walks with my husband.After 40 years I feel like this is out time to pack a bag and take a trip.Due to health reasons we dont go abroad too often.So the Hodson Bay meets all our needs.
